sorry guys - the connection became an exercise in futility trying to post anything - let alone anything of substance - so it was canned as a bad job!
Anyway, to complete matters, the Heads Up game became something of a procession - as last reported, Seb Kerrian, from the HTC Club in Normandy, France - could not miss a flop and quickly decimated the stack of Latvian player Sindijs Anspoks.
Sindijs did fight back a little, but it seemed a forlorn hope and it just seemed a matter of time before Seb would put him out of his misery.
When Sindijs shoved for the third consecutive time, Seb this time announced call, and tabled
- behind - but not by much to Sindijs
.
The flop was one both liked -
- Seb invoking the used and abused "one time" plea from the poker Gods - Sindijs stoically watching proceedings, ready to accept his fate.
The turn was a brick -
- and only a spade would give Seb the win at the first time of asking.
The river brought the
- and we had our champion.
Was a fine display at the end, Sindijs very gracious in defeat and Seb could not be denied his win.
Also must mention great showings by Don Roberts (3rd) and Andy Duncan (4th) - im gutted they didnt get the coverage they deserved but they played some great poker and represented APAT superbly well. Well done guys.
Thank you to everyone who took part this weekend - wasnt the easiest of tournaments to handle, but it was nonetheless enjoyable and many thanks to Denise and her team at the Fitzwilliam for accomodating us and working closely alongside me to ensure the tournament ran as smooth as possible.
Pictures to follow to wrap things up.
Thanks again all
