Me too, Don. The nice lady I spoke to offered me a room in the Holiday Inn on the M6 instead. Seemed quite surprised that I didn"t think that was very convenient for the casino...

Anyway, got a single at the North Stafford (opposite the train station), for Sat/Sun nights - "winter sale" price £29 a night including brekkie

So I guess they"ve saved me £100  

Bit dubious on the double-booking excuse - I reckon they"ve got a big wedding on Saturday night and they needed rooms for extra guests for that
