we reduced the clock from 45 min to 40 mins

HERESY!

Man has a point here.

I also noticed that some of the blind levels have changed compared to the Structure on the main APAT site. As this is the flag bearer APAT event of the week, surely this shouldn"t have happened?

Not to be a cynic or anything, but it appears that Aspers have changed the blind structure solely so they can chip up earlier - which WILL affect play in the later stages despite what people think.

Sorry if the staff feel this is out of order, but APAT chopped and changed structures for many seasons (remember the ante-less structure at the start, Paulie?) and after carefully listening to customer feedback many times, and many trials, the structure we have now is just about perfect. Everybody seems happy, the game moves quickly enough, and at a few APATs I have noticed that Day 1 is finishing earlier than originally planned! Day 2 is also finishing at a decent time as well, so adding an extra 5k onto stacks shouldn"t be that much of a deterrent, definitely not enough to make late stage antes bigger and take 5 mins off the clock every level.

I spoke with Aspers about the 6k yesterday and for some reason they wanted to stick with 6k - I"ll discuss again tonight.

I think it"s because Razz is generally played by Grumpy Old men and a 10k starting stack would see the event last many days!!

Certainly the three previous posters on this subject would back up that notion  ;)

Have you been talking to my missus? The irony is that the Razz looks to be the only one at capacity so far. Either there"s a lot of grumpy old men or we"re all pessimists who know we can easily achieve the worst hand when we play.

In all honesty it looks to be a magnificent festival, bigger starting stacks hopefully meaning more play (for me anyway), very good structures and terrific people to play and socialise with. Oh, and fairly local too. And the solution for the 2nd/3rd events at the same time, I don"t think we could have asked for a better one.

Finally, how casual is smart casual? I see jeans mentioned but where are we on trainers/hoodies/shorts? I"m asking for everyone else obv, I have to work till 11 tomorrow so I"ll prob be there in suit and tie.

Could be the 8pm start that leads to shorter stack etc?

I expect it"s that - 8pm v 6pm start, plus the other events. There"s nothing else on Tuesday except the 120-runner event starting at 2pm, whereas on Friday there"s the 6-max with 160 runners starting at 4pm and the team event going on at the same time.

Actually, I was hoping that the Stud could be reduced to 6k. ::)

Last month I wore jeans, smarts shoes, plain t-shirt/hoody and that was fine. Mate of mine had jeans, polo-type t-shirt and new work boots which were steel toecapped and couldn"t be worn via the front door (security guard wouldn"t let us pass) but we went in the back door (outside there is a lift which takes you to right inside the casino - feels strange walking in that way as it"s not like a proper entrance) and security there let us in no probs!

I know that doesn"t fully answer your question but might help somewhat. If in doubt, go there early and ask the guy on the door (bottom of the escalator, not at a door as such) as he"ll be one that lets you in or not.

Thanks Chris, I can see it"ll resemble a fashion show, walking up and down in different outfits till I find one that works. First attempt, the Inbetweeners Speedos......  :o

Oh yeah, that"s right. My mate was told to take his pokerstars flat cap off even though I saw people in there with way more volume of hair than his hat ever was!

Yeah, that was just as we were walking in the escalator entrance. I can"t remember if he tried putting it back on once in the poker room but Dawnie^^ said it"s a "walking through the casino floor" rule so i"m sure you"re right.
