Just a line check please
« on: December 29, 2013, 09:47:20 AM »
This feels kinda bad. Where do you think I get this one wrong (assuming I do). I think I should probably be raising the flop and trying to get it in there. My opponent in the hand s a standard 24/17/3 over about 50 hands. No notes on him.

Anybody finding a fold on the river?

PokerStars Zoom No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) - PokerStars Converter Tool from http://flopturnriver.com/

Button ($25.70)
SB ($18.47)
BB ($47.42)
Hero (UTG) ($140.86)
MP ($21.70)
CO ($25)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A, K
Hero raises to $0.75, MP calls $0.75, 2 folds, SB calls $0.65, 1 fold

Flop: ($2.50) A, 6, K (3 players)
SB bets $1.25, Hero calls $1.25, MP calls $1.25

Turn: ($6.25) 5 (3 players)
SB bets $3, Hero calls $3, 1 fold

River: ($12.25) 5 (2 players)
SB bets $5.75, Hero calls $5.75

Total pot: $23.75 | Rake: $1.07

Results below:
SB had 8, 10 (flush, King high).
Hero didn"t show A, K (two pair, Aces and Kings).
Outcome: SB won $22.68
Still trying to think of something amusing to write in this bit.

Villain doesn"t have full buy in. Not totally standard, possibly a little rubbish.

A clear raise on the flop for me, diamonds are a huge part of his donking range so you need to work towards getting as much of his stack in by the turn.

Other possible donks:

Ax - if he"s donk/folding then he"s probably not going to barrel off with a weaker made hand. Might as well raise for value now.
QJ/QT/JT - Most likely to be a ridiculous single shot at winning the pot, only putting in any more if he hits.

Unless you"ve seen a particular occurrence where he spews in this spot, I"d be raising.

In this hand I"d throw up a bit on the turn after he calls and then pot control/evaluate river.
