well, I haven"t updated this for ages and you can probably guess why?

Nothing to brag about?

Correct of course!!

January and February were losing months for me. Most of the losses came from trying to qualify for Irish open and a few GUKPT sats. I also had a very dry run in other MTTs. If I had just stuck to my bread and butter of STTs then I"d have been ticking over nicely.

I also played the UKIPT manchester in February and after donking most of my stack in the first 2 levels, managed to get above my starting stack again by level 7. I went out when I got cute with AA after a raise and reraise and proceeded to let the OR flop a flush and bust me. The correct play was to probably shove pre, but I wanted 3 way action as this would have put me right back in the tourney. However, with this structure, you are never really out of the tourney so the conservative approach would have done here.

March has been much better. I qualified for UKIPT coventry and am really looking forward to playing this. I bubbled a seat for CBPMT bristol which was v disappointing but will be trying again for this.

As for the rest of online poker I have decided to try a new discipline............. FTP 45 man MTTs. I have played 43 of these and have an ROI of -52% which really sucks!! However I do think I have been a bit unlucky. I have made the FT 11 times out of 43 which I think is enough to make a profit. However I have only converted 3 of these 11 FTs into cashes which when you consider that 6 places are paid, is pretty poor.

The make up of players on this is very bizzare. There are a lot of players who are clearly "45 man MTT machines" and are making thousands in profit. There are also a whole load of fishes (of which I am one at the moment). There doesn"t seem to be too many break even players at these. I am going to persist with these because I think I can do well in the long run (43 games is hardly a sample to be making any drastic conclusions). However if anyone has any advice on how to play this particular format then please feel free to share any pearls of wisdom.....

swansea TR to follow.....

Well I used ger"s advice and managed to get to the FT second in chips. However, another non cash as I ran into AA two hands in a row to finish 9th...

Nice read Rob, the G in Blackpool has a £50 F/O on Fridays, I played it last week, and the standard on the whole was good, 120 runners as well.
