Our table is then moved to lucky 13 away from the cameras, but the table continues to play solid. I chip up to about 180K after 3 betting Andrew Duffy with ATo in the h/j and him folding to my cbet. The next hand I get QQ (blinds are 1.5K/3K/300) and make it 6K. The BB then makes it 15K. I then make it 35K. Trouble is I have done this without a plan, so when BB (had played pretty solid) makes it 80K I go into the tank. I spend most of my time in the tank having a go at myself for 4 betting without a plan. Flatting is out of the question and 6 betting seems like such a spew when I have been picking up easy chips elsewhere on the table. I fold which feels correct and even if I had thought about it before putting in the 4 bet, I may have still 4 bet folded, but at least my thought process would have been more advanced than “errr I have QQ, I rereraise”. Back to awkward stack size time as the blinds go up to 2K/4K/400 and I am grinding again as the bubble approaches....
as long as u reason out every move you make before u make it this will make you play more actively/not in autopilot mode.[u already know this as per the tanking
]
constantly keep thinking Rob, constantly analyzing your play aids the improving... hopefully it will help prevent you from making terrible, tilty, or spewy plays because you won"t just be acting on a whim etc, you will be hopefully consciously reasoning through all your options. [in play]
tbh i"d call the 3bet and plan to call a reasonable sized cbet if he makes one and see what action he makes on 4th 5th street.. all on what flops, how u view his range and how u think he perceives your 3bet call range...
the rest seems ok"ish , u have plenty of experience now in mtts
[and bit of intelligence
] so your assumptions in play on your opponents and how they play the ranges u give them have/will get better/more accurate... so trust your gut...
away from the table - i"d be more interested in how u thought u was perceived by your oppo"s regarding your thinking on being/taking more creative [lines] with some of your stronger hands..
the QJ call on the final table is close, all on how wide u thought his range was... me, i don"t mind it
u know my views on possible negative ev flips, as long as it doesn"t effect your overall strategy to much by losing, but can make a fairly significant change by winning [aka - Gigabet]
further thoughts - invest in a blond wig and a bit of lippy etc, work on a cute Danish/Dutch accent and reap the awards
