Great Efforts:

Next Challenge : Look to qualify for a TV tournament:

They can then endlessly describe you as the "internet qualifier" - and you can look to kick some ass.

Good luck in whatever you do - drinking pink champagne is a good hobby to get involved in.

Louis

qualify?  he could buy in to an EPT direct, and then would have the rights to moan about those "damned internet qualifiers"!!  :)

Rob, i have always thought of you as being a very similar player to myself in both style and wins and from what you say about your previous wins, that looks to be the case too.
Now you have made a MASSIVE leap with this win so why not take a shot at the higher stakes ?
I played tourneys on the Ladbrokes Cruise last year that I paid into for $300, $500 and $1000 which were WAYYYY out of my comfort zone, but I felt that the oportunity was too good to miss. I felt out of my depth in the opener but by the time the $1000 came around I had settled down and finished 31st and cashed, which gave me confidence that I probably didn"t previously have in my game.
This year I played a GUKPT side event and cashed in that and IMO, the main difference in these events is the entry fee. You are well-capable of giving them a good go so please mate, use some of this win as an investment. You may be surprised at what you find.

I managed to watch a few hands when you where 3 handed, in the hand where the player pushed allin on the flop and you call with ace high, what was your thinking on this and would you say this was a pretty standard call??

Kenny

If you watch that again, he had already committed 5 mill pre flop and had 600k behind, so nothing else to do really but shove.

I think we were both tired and meant to get it all in pre, but we both failed by a few K to do so. We just finished off the pre flop betting after the flop ;D

Aftermath....

I have watched the rerun of the FT from the sunday warm up last week and am relieved I came out of it pretty good and not just a total luckbox (the A4 v JJ hand apart LOL ;D)

As I have said before, I"m not going mad from a poker point of view. The money has been withdrawn and most of it has been spent on clearing debts. I also got myself a new car (nothing flash though!!).

I am back to the grind of playing DC sats and have won another tonight. I am pretty much addicted to these, as I have been able to maintain an ROI of 80-100% over 100 games now, making them easily the softest games going. Hats off to Neil and Leigh for spotting these.

stats at the moment

played - 104
Heads up - 49
final tables - 25
seats - 10
minor cashes - 8
ROI - 98.1%

It has been amusing playing these where people have OPR"d me and come up with a few comments..

"WTF are you doing playing these?" is the most common, but my favourite was tonight when I got busted TT v A9 and another player said to the villain

"Do you realise you have just busted the Warm up runner up from last week?"

LOL...fame...at last!! ;D ;D
