We were played off the pitch yesterday but (and this is not an excuse) it once again showed that at this level in Rugby the loss of a man for 10 minutes is crucial. Wales showed it against England last week and Ireland paid the price yesterday.

We weren"t going too bad at that stage it was one of those 50/50 games -- whoever was going to get the first score was going to get the upper hand.

There were too many unforced errors but the late try by Wallace showed that if we kept the ball and moved through the phases we were capable of scoring.

I feel France have justified their pre tournament status as favourites. England have edged in front in the betting stakes, we'll see in two weeks

Scotland winger Thom Evans is "moving his arms and legs" after undergoing neck surgery.

Team doctor James Robson said: "Thom has sustained damage to his neck that has required surgery."

Let's all hope and pray for a full and speedy recovery.

"Thom had sustained slippage to one of the vertebrae and that required to be eased back into place. The surgeons are pleased with his progress, Thom has movement in his arms and legs and his family have been to visit him today, as have a number of his Glasgow Warriors team-mates."

I check my bank accounts on-line every day and I got a phantom payment from an unknown source into my current account today, text on the transaction was "P/T Group Acc ********" (stars entered by me in this post as it was a number.) No idea where it came from and Google gives me nowt.

Rang the bank and explained the situation.


Bank: "It's a bank to bank transfer, are you sure you don't know the source"
Me: "Would I be ringing you if I knew?"

Bank: "It's a valid transfer sir"
Me: What the hell am I supposed to do about it then"

Bank: "Sorry sir but the receiving bank has no responsibility, you will need to contact the sending party."
Me: "I have no idea where it came from, maybe you could tell me"

Bank "Sorry sir we are not privvy to that information" (privvy FFS, of course they know they just won"t tell me)
Me: "So back to my question what am I to do about it"

Bank: "Leave it a few days Sir, it will sort itself out if it is an error"
Me: "So you are saying now that it's an error"

Bank: "No Sir I am saying that it will sort itself out and you will probably remember what it"s for later.
Me: "Oh so I will remember what I don't know about a payment I don't know about from somewhere I don't know and this will be in a flash of enlightenment later on today"

Bank: "Yes Sir, can I help you with anything else"
Me: "Given your track record over the last few minutes I doubt it"

Bank: "Goodbye Sir"

Oh and the amount of this transaction is £532.16

Bank operators don"t have access to the specific information they do need to refer it to one of the operations centres, in the bank I work in they have a team which works on this problem specifically but only mon-fri.

If you look at it from another angle, you could move the money out and there is nothing the bank can do except ask nicely to get it back, it is the responsibility of the sender to get it correct.
