So, the Abbey Road zebra crossing in north London (made famous after appearing on a Beatles album cover) has been given Grade II listed status. It is being recognised for its "cultural and historical importance" following advice from English Heritage.
Now if I remember correctly, the crossing was moved several metres for traffic management reasons more than 30 years ago, and no original features remain.
So, in keeping with the laws surrounding Grade II are they going to find the original paint and lights and re-create it, will anyone be able to use it, after all it will be protected by law.
Or had the world gone stark raving mad...
