One way of summarising my trip could be:

1. Lost my camera - found my camera
2. Lost my American cell phone - found my American cell phone
3. Lost my Dell Streak - found my Dell Streak
4. Lost my wallet - found my wallet
5. Lost my wallet again - Adam found it for me (excellent sprinting a block from Sharplea to save my wallet - much appreciated amigo)

Basically I ran like God over the trip, otherwise I"d have been over a £1000 down on lost property by the end.

Looking forward to the rest of your trip report Ger - it"s info for people who weren"t there, nostalgia for those that were :D

Turner prize critique?

Quote
KARLA BLACK who has an innovative approach to sculpture and makes substantial works made in otherwise temporary spaces and materials.

Oh FFS get a grip, she was building a wall in her garden and dropped the platic bag of cement and thought "I know the Turner prize is coming up and the divvies that make up the judging panel will think this is great"

Quote
MARTIN BOYCE who holds the viewer with atmospheric sculptural installations, combining references to design history and text, marked by a subtle attention to detail.

Does he feck, He went into his shed and found some left over Christmas decorations and a Workmate and after a few shots of whiskey had the same thought as that eejit Karla.

Quote
HILARY LLOYD who combines still and moving images, sound and the three dimensional forms of AV playback equipment to portray the urban environment.

Oh give me strength, she got made redundant from a video store and took some projectors in lieu of payment. She stuck them up in the ceiling so she could watch a constant loop of her vegetables decomposing like her sad life. She wouldn"t know an urban environment if it fell out of the sky and hit her on the head. Her friend high on drugs put this forward for a laugh.

Quote
GEORGE SHAW whose paintings, with their deeply personal juxtaposition of subject matter and material, lie intriguingly on the edge of tradition.

Yeah right, the fence is juxtapositioned between the left and right lobes of his brain. He had a blinding flash of mediocrity and painted a house with a fence. He then went back to the big house on the hill to continue his treatment.

Don"t get me started on the ones that didn"t make the shortlist.

Martin Boyce won it and is using the money to do up his garden shed with a combination of toilet seats and bog roll (which will be his next years entry)

Personally I think Martin"s stylistic approach to lighting and atmosphere surrounding an unconventional yet symmetrical environment was a very worthy winner  ;)

............my arse, but it was good coz the winner is Scottish (again)  ;D

Daughter comes in from school, have the usual Simpsons episodes ready to go and a cup of tea for her.. first episode rolls and it starts off with Homers "Vegas wife" funeral in which her full name is read out in the church, I wasn"t sure if I"d heard it right and was having post Vegas trauma.. but no I had :)

Me chuckle too
