...it has a "bottom cleaner". That is an automatic device attached by an umbilical cord to the side of the pool and it moves along sucking up debris

Another cracking day outside - 34c - It really is a lovely spot and I would come to this place again. The villa is superb and the host very helpful. Poker was funny last night and enjoyable. Will try and VPN again tonight to buy in - Back to the homestead on Saturday. sigh

When my sister arrived to join us in France on the Wednesday, I picked her up from the airport hit the shop and was back at the Villa for 11am, despite sleazy jet being late once more. So we didn't want to go anywhere so we were chilling around the pool with some vin rose.

Eric, the owner, used to arrive once a day to blow all the leaves away from the area of the pool with his power blower (it prevented them from landing in the pool). I introduced him to my sister and he said something to me in rapid French.

Now my French is shyte and his English was marginally better so after a lot of hand signals and eventual understanding of simple French words the statement became clear.

"Now your sister has arrived, you will be eating in the villa for the first time this holiday"

Priceless.......

Having a few beers and watching the golf, unless Oosthuizen blows up it"s his surely. Flicking over now and again to the Tour De France those crowds really squeeze in don"t they......

A small aside, which will be expanded on later, my sister thought it would be safest to say "Oui" to every question asked when we had a slap up meal on the final night in a posh restuarant....

Epic fail .......

Bless..

Marie came in this evening and the conversation went kinda like this...

"Daddy I am going for deputy manager in Pzza Hut"
"Oh Yes, nice" says I
"Yes it"s more money but I will have to move to another branch"
"Do you have a choice of branches" says I
"Yes I don"t want to go to Llandudno because it"s in Wales init and Wales is miles away, so I think I will pick Queensferry"

Bless

Statistics eh!

In the recent ballot of British Airways cabin crew they have rejected the airline"s latest "final" pay offer by 3,419 votes to 1,686.

So Unite say that is a big mandate over 2/1

However that's 5,105 votes and there are 11,000 affected Unite union members.

Cue the BA statement "We are encouraged by the result of this ballot which shows that 73% of our cabin crew did not reject our offer."

Sigh more strikes then

In this environment, airlines going bust quite regularly, fuel prices going sky high, all airlines losing millions and millions because of the volcano cloud, every price going sky high, everyone not being given pay riases, some being given pay deductions...  And these people want to go on strike because they are not getting a big enough pay rise...  I hope the ongoing strikes cost BA so much money that they have to drop routes and drop staff along with them, and then see who the strike is going to hurt..  No sympathy for them.
