Myself and Carl are off to the aquarium for the rebuy night - could get messy.  ::)
Found the Scottish version of the aquarium on tuesday night,in one of our local pubs.£10 rebuy for 2 hours.Certainly wasn"t for the faint hearted.

Biggest difference at the Scottish aquarium is that the air bubbles hit the surface and you can hear a faint "burp" sound

As already mentioned elsewhere the darts were awesome last night, Phil Taylors usually impeccable finishing let him down, you don't beat and in form Mark Webster with a 33% checkout rate.

Will have to put the semi's on record today because I am off to the aquarium for a deepstack freezout. 2pm start and 20k in chips, what's the betting we have an all in during the first level, and I am involved   ;D

From the BBC website

"A tough anti-smoking law has taken effect in Spain.

The ban - one of the strictest in Europe - outlaws smoking in all bars and restaurants. Smokers will also be prohibited on television broadcasts, near hospitals or in school playgrounds."

I understand that anti-smoking rules introduced in 2006 outlawed smoking in the workplace, but it let bar and restaurant owners choose whether or not to allow it. Most chose not to impose any ban.

I don"t really mind going outside (Vienna card room was getting stuffy even for me).

Isn"t it lucky that the Excelsior has an open-air bar?

Followers of this blog have heard me say a few times that I am a recreational poker player.

I was looking at another forum where a guy was abused for playing a hand all wrong, he actually did quite well in the tournament he was playing but got all sorts of dog's abuse for one particular hand (others defended him but as is normal defenders are always outnumbered by attackers). He had his reasons and tried to explain them, however my point to him would be why bother explaining. Constructive criticism is a good thing, name calling and abuse is not.

I had a similar situation last night I made a "dubious" call from the BB with K7 against a raise from the SB with ??. I hit 2 pair on flop and got it all in he turned over aces. I turned a king for the house and was in a nice position from then on in.
I apologised ( why I wont be doing that again ) and received an underlying nasty tirade (no swearing by villain) about the quality of my play.
Anyone who knows me, knows I am a very recreational player and a person who doesn"t like to upset anybody in the main but I have now grown up and if I give anybody a bad beat in future.............Tough

Love as always

I think this is a great attitude.

When I first popped up on the APAT scene almost exactly a year ago now at some team event in Manchester!!! I remember having the exact same attitude. Now if I could just that that back it would be great. When you get too serious about it, it does actually take a lot away from the enjoyment of actually playing the game.

Still trying to think of something amusing to write in this bit.

Totally agree with Ian and Steve, It"s so much better when there"s good spirit at the table. We all give out and get our fair share of bad calls/beats/outdraws. I"m also a great believer that you have to sometimes just dig the heels in on occasion with your BB. You can"t be a doormat and they"re not all riaising it with good hands.
