To be fair, the £50 extra on the phone bill is surely less than she would have spent going out.  No?

No fear of it.  We tried giving her lessons one night.  We failed...miserably.    ::)

The wee man has a temporary job in a call centre in Birkenhead this week. God help you if you are one of the 100,000 people switching to digital tomorrow. He has had two days training and will be answering your technical questions tomorrow.

So if you are serviced from the Waltham transmitter in the East Midlands you have been warned.

The wee man came home last night after 14 hours on the help desk for Digital UK. He looked like he had run a marathon, swam the channel and had gone over Niagara Falls in a barrel. Work certainly was a culture shock. He had his share of nice calls, awkward calls and downright nasty calls. He repeated one call.

He was helping a lady retune her TV when she asked if he could slow down as her 14 year old son was following the same instructions on a TV upstairs. So every instruction had to be repeated by the Mother to her son as they went through the script. The channels were beginning to scroll down and things were going well when Ger heard a child's voice obviously coming from the boy upstairs.

"Hey Mum, we've got porn"

Priceless...

That"s good. If the customer is paying for porn then they expect porn, and if they don"t get it or it breaks they get very unhappy. Which is actually fair enough when you think about it.

Off to the aquarium tonight for some light entertainment. Then its work work work for the whole weekend. Putting in a new release of our Warehouse Management System at Warrington - oh joy (however my employment does pay for my particular brand of poker) a 5am start on the Sunday should be fun after a long day on the Saturday.

Been a long week setting it up but I enjoy it immensly.

Well that"s Warrington sorted, up and running on the new system. Now for the 5am start tomorrow, this means getting up at 4am, I will be grouchy.  8)

Now that was a tough day, up at 4am to be in the depot before the first shift arrived and dealing with little issues as they came to grips with the new software.  Left the depot at 5pm and am now at home about to crack a few beers and relax, if I can stay awake.

Just 3 days work next week and then it's off to DTD, really looking forward to it.
