Take the fuse out the dishwasher plug and tell her it is still broken and let her wash the dishes by hand for a day or two. When it"s your turn to help out put the fuse back in and tell her you have managed to fix it, and saved about £130 in the bargain... You will be the house here for at least a week...

I have been lucky enough to have had a good education, I even went to University. So I reckon I could deduce most things (maybe not poker). So when my dishwasher stopped working I started with some reasoning and came to the conclusion it was fecked. So it was back to the sink for the dishes for a while. Then a couple of days later the washing machine packed in FFS that was two and breakdowns come in three's . They were both old so it was no real surprise. I could do without the dishwasher but no way could I do without the washing machine.

Research done I went to Curry's and purchased a washing machine with a mind to replace the dishwasher later on. Carl gave me a hand and we installed the washing machine. Well feck me no worky. We then turned to the manual. Nowt there. Scotty arrived and our three heads were scratched. We sourced power from elsewhere and hurrah the washing machine kicked into life. Put it back in the socket where it should be and no likey.

Then Scotty uttered the immortal words "What's that switch up there for?" Oh Pooh there was nothing wrong with either appliance, Marie in her zeal to clean up had inadvertently switched off the master switch for both appliances.

Oh well at least I have a new washing machine

Priceless.....

Oh now that did make me smile!!.. Lol

BBC report "Ministers may consider moves to ban young drivers in England and Wales from carrying anyone except family members as passengers, reports suggest."

Do you really think I got into Marie"s car after she passed her test  ;D

I got another skip this weekend, I know where does all my rubbish come from?  :o

So I went on a wee bit of a clean in my own bedroom and was being ruthless. In one of the bedside drawers I found a ring that I had forgotten all about. It was a gift for my 21st birthday from my girlfriend at the time, the lovely Pauline Wade. The only finger it will fit on now is the little finger, I shall wear it anyway, happy memories.

I wonder what she is at now, probably still toasting her lucky escape.  8)

Won the aquarium last night when I had the most chips at closing time. Aided in no small way by shoving every hand on the last orbit with blinds 4000/8000 and everyone else was nursing their stacks to the extent that I overtook them all. I love it when a plan comes together.  ;D

In other news, Ireland reacted well today by recording a victory over an out of sorts Argentina. A seven-try rout of opposition guarantees Ireland"s place among the second seeds for the 2015 World Cup draw.

Also I think a new star is born in the shape of Ulster 21-year-old Craig Gilroy, who capped an outstanding Test debut with a brilliant finish for Ireland"s opening try. His side-step and ability to break the first tackle set up the initial field position for two other tries.

Bring on the six nations  ;D

Yesterday was spent being extremely lazy, normal Saturday then. I dropped Ger down to work at about 3 and headed into Morrison's to pick up some beer and stuff. As I have already ordered and received the Christmas presents on line I also purchased wrapping paper and selotape. I reach the till.

"Wrapping Christmas presents" says the bored wee girl with no hint of a smile.
"No' says I with my usual eruditeness
"Isn't it the worst job of the lot" says she
"No" says I
"Getting the beer in for Christmas" says she scanning the 3 crates trying to keep up the pretence of being friendly and enjoying her job. FFS 3 crates on a Saturday is not getting beer in early for Christmas.

Well my usual calm and grumpy facade crumbled at this point and she was quite miffed as I struggled for air while leaning on the trolley for support.

I drive an Omega 2.6 petrol estate and have been worrying about the effect on the environment of such a guzzler. So in the interests of global warming and future generations I have sold my car and acquired another.

It"s the friendly Mercedes S500, I rock  ;D ;D ;D
