Obviously that should include horse meat which many seem to see as unpalatable - but to be honest I don"t think I"ve seen or heard a single person say about this current "scandal" that the horse meat in the burgers was disgusting, they"ve pretty much all said exactly the same as Ger has said. I"m not 100% sure who they are arguing with when I haven"t come across the opposite position anywhere.
If there can be horse in your beef, then there could be beef in your lamb or pork in your kangaroo! If you don"t eat certain meat due to your religious beliefs then packaging containing any meat other than what it says on the label is scandalous. There"s my opposite position!
Yes I"ve seen a number of people who said that the mislabelling was an issue - just not anyone that the concept of it being horsemeat was the problem.
This is despite the fact that the media keep on harping on about that bit of it - I"ve seen one single news report that included the pork DNA contamination and the religious significance of that and every other article has only mentioned the horse meat.
I mainly just don"t like journalists setting the agenda by their take on a news story rather than actually representing what people are thinking come to think of it.
EDIT: further to AJDUK"s post - i.e. journalists want to make the story about horse meat whereas what most people are concerned about is the mislabelling
