I see some tech blogs have reported that the new W8 update could mean Microsoft reversing its decision to remove the start button from the system"s desktop environment. They also suggested it would give users the option of booting their PCs directly into Windows 8"s desktop mode rather than having to visit the tile-based Start menu screen first.
The first thing I did when I bought a W8 laptop was to load an app that gave me the start button and direct start up to the desktop. But then I am old school.
On Tuesday the Financial Times ran a front-page story suggesting that a U-turn over key elements of Windows 8 would mark
"one of the most prominent admissions of failure for a new mass-market consumer product since Coca-Cola"s New Coke fiasco nearly 30 years ago". That's a bit harsh, I quite like W8 (except of course the no start button issue but that was a minor irritation).
Other people on here more technically minded would of course give a better feedback, but I kinda like it...
