Day 7

I hate countdowns with a vengeance....not sure I like countups any better...but at least this one is one i can get behind.

For some obscure reason today has been the worst day of the give up. No idea why, nothing material has changed. Have not grabbed a cigarette but the urge to do so is the strongest it has ever been. I know it"s only a week but the e-cig has lost it"s allure. Switching to mint flavour to see if it makes a difference.

Someone said that you should change the flavour regularly. Maybe they are lying bar stewards, let"s see.

Ger!!!  If I"d known you were interested in the slightest, I"d have talked you through the whole e-cig world while you were here.  You"ll get a thing called "vaper"s tongue" using the same flavour all the time, but you did the right thing by switching to the mint one.  Do that for a couple of days and your favourite flavour will taste good again. Honest.  :)

That said, the lack of reports since June 16th suggests you"re probably back on the smokes.   ::)

It must be a sign that I am travelling too much. Was preparing to go to Swindon this morning, packed the clothes and the electronic stuff, chargers etc. Then I went to the drawer for my passport. FFS it's Swindon not Switzerland.  Didn't go in the end either as there was more pressing work in Deeside (could have used the passport for Wales I suppose).

Not doing a lot of poker online or live, telling myself that I am saving the run good for Vegas. Truth is, unless it involves meeting up with friends, I have little interest. Today Jason Boulton came back to work after 10 days in Vegas, took all my resolve not batter him as he gave detailed statements on the different casinos and games he played. Can't wait for November 9th.

Typing this I have decided to play the PLO HI/LO tonight. Memories of the Tropicana that year when Stu and I frightened the locals (and APAT legends) into submission. Happy times.

Well the PLO H/L was interesting ended up going out 8th - absolutely no complaints as my cards meant that I was leaning to the low side most of the night and getting it. The one time I wanted low cards in the final shove they did not materialise. As I said no complaints - enjoyed it.

Always good playing these APAT tournies...

Watching Liverpool V Man U and while I have no love for the game at all the Wee Man does and I must admit I am proud of his swearing vocabulary - impressive stuff Ger  ;D ;D

All of the above, of course, pales in comparison with the returns available when playing Pai Gow instead of poker.

I remember one of my first introductions to Pai Gow and it"s obvious advantages. The next day I  walked past the pit to cries of Hello Gerrrrrrarrrrd from all the dealers. FFS what had I drunk the previous day. I had to ask one of them whether or not I had to apologise for anything. They said no way it was just fun last night watching you trying to function........
