We"re getting a practically zero wifi signal here, so the lite update is going to be liter than a lite thing.  I can"t even get into my email to publish the player list, so pictures and videos are an absolute no no.

Just finishing level 1 of event #1, 64 players currently in - with no exits.

With 4 minutes left in level 3, we"ve already lost five players.

Graham Foster took the first scalps, his Aces taking two players out.  His opponent holding pocket tens might feel a little aggrieved, but seat eight was doing some serious fishing in the hand with Jack Five off.

One of the dealers has volunteered his Samsung S3 to tether a signal for the update.  Fair play.

Nice bunch of dealers here and cardroom manager John Cormack (suited in pic) seems extremely capable and accomodating.

Elizabeth Costa is reraised all in on the flop by Catherine Johnston and makes the call for her tournament life.

Costa shows  ad1 8c for middle pair, with the  8h on the board.

Johnston shows  9c 9d

Turn is a blank for Costa who is preparing to stand.

River  8d

Costa survives while Johnston smiles through gritted teeth.

Regular APATer Jamie Edgill exits in 62nd.  Didn"t get any hand details, just a shrug from Jamie as he walked towards the rail...

Graham Foster must be near the head of the field, and he"s certainly getting busy on table 7.

On a board of  6c 8d 8h 5s 3d

Foster raises 2,600 against Michael Quigley.

There"s a good atmosphere at the table with plenty of banter.

Quigley studied Foster for a couple of minutes before making the call.

Foster immediately mucked, as Quigley turned over  4c 4d.

Foster gets busy again a hand later, this time calling an initial raise from Troy Rutherford.

On a board of  Kc 7h Js

Rutherford bets 850, called.

3s

check, check

Ks

Rutherford pushes out 1,100 which is enough to see Foster release his hand.

"Ups and Downs" Foster says....although the recent trend is more down than up.

Nicholas Ramsey raises 500 on a board of...

9d 4c Kd Js

Natalie Styth calls.

5c

Ramsey checks to his opponent, who is fairly short.

Styth bets 1200 to take the pot.

I catch Ramsey involved in a big pot a couple of hands later.

On a board of 6c 8d 8s

Ramsey checks

Hoodied Adam Farley raises to 1900

Seat 3 on the button gets out of the way.

Ramsey calls.

Turn  5d

Check, Check

River  Ah

Farley raises 3300

Ramsey ponders...and ponders...and pushes all in.

Farley isn"t happy but ultimately he"s not a believer....and he makes the call.

Ramsey shows  Ac 8c for the full house

Farley shrugs, gets up showing  Ad  6s for the rivered two pair.

Ramsey pulls in a mountain of chips and is a likely chipleader.

We lost Peter Cook before the break.

Peter won an LPPL national championship at the Festival of Pub Poker a couple of years back.

We"ve hit level 8 with 29 players left in event #1 with blinds at 500 / 1000 / 150.  The average stack is 23448.

We"ll organise a detailed chip count with two tables left.  My local knowledge doesn"t stretch to knowing too many of these players. :)
