Still in, although short in chips, is LPPL North East area organiser John Nixon.

Wifi is pretty poor at the moment, so I"ve spent the last half an hour watching the Liverpool match.

We have 18 left in event #1 at 800 / 1600 / 250.  Average stack is 38000.

28 remain in event #2 with 15m left in level 5.

John Nixon doubles up to just over 80k with trip Jacks against Graham Foster. Nixon was called all in pre flop. Pocket Jacks versus Ace Seven.

11 remain.

Blinds at 1500 / 3000 / 400.

Average stack 62k.

Foster goes in 11th. His Jack Five failing to improve against his opponent"s Ace Six, all in pre.

We are now hand for hand.

Elizabeth Costa is our bubble in event #1.

Getting short, she pushed with  Kc 5s and couldn"t improve against John Nixon"s  As 6h.

Players are on a short break while I get the chipcounts.

14 remain in event #2.

On a board of 10c 2h Kd

Shortstack Shane Barnes pushes his chips in and is called by David Cook and Gerrard Gannon.

Barnes shows  ad1 5h
Cook  Ah Ks
Gannon  9c 9d

Turn  4d and Barnes calls for any 3.

River  3c

Giving Barnes a triple up to his delight.

Cook shakes his head while Gannon is our first exit on the FT.

Gerrard Gannon, 9th.

Ben Sowerby is all in for around 50k and is called by David Cook.

Cook shows   6c 6d
Sowerby  Ac Kh

Flop  Qh 6s Qh to give Cook trips

Turn and River brick and we lose Ben Sowerby in 8th.

As I detailed the last hand, we lost Shane Barnes in 7th.  No hand details I"m afraid.  It"s all pretty fast and furious at the moment.  I love Newcastle.  ;D

I think somebody mentioned a party, because when I turned back to the table, there"s a three way all in.

John Nixon  9h 9s

Simon Pham  Ac 10d

Troy Rutherford  6h 6s

The board runs out  8c Jh 2d 8d 7c

And we lose Simon in 6th and Troy in 5th.

The pace is frentic!

Pham in "shock horror" 6th place finish

Rutherford in "pulls own hair out shocker" 5th place finish.
