This is the 6th renewal of the APAT WCOAP, and never in its history has a player defended the title they won the year before.
This is now seriously under threat, as Michael Perry is currently crushing the final table, playing Pot Limit Omaha of truly the highest standard.
Michael won the event in 2013 - and has just eliminated Steve Johnson, who takes 6th place cash, in two successive hands.
Firstly Michael pots the opening raise of Steve, to which Steve folds.
Then, the same happens - this time Steve makes a stand and ships - Micheal calls and shows AA72. Steve has KQJ6.
The pocket Aces were nice, but a flop of T22 even better for Michael - and when another Ten arrived on the turn, Steve was drawing dead.
This win took Michaels stack to a set of blinds shy of 600,000....over half the chips in play.
APAT history in the making.................?
