I"m very proud to be captain and delighted to announce the Wales Team for the WCOAP 2015:
Paul Mcguinnes
Paul is a 3 times APAT gold medalist and a 2 times winner of this event previously for Wales, also a runner up in the English Amateur Poker Championship. He brings a vast amount of experience to the team and his 3 final tables in the HORSE event shows what a great mixed game player he is, I know Paul is looking forward to this event
Gareth Watkins
Gareth has been playing poker for 10 years and been dealing poker at the G Casino Coventry for the last 3 years. His best poker achievements to date are winning the Luton Mayday Megastack last year and also a 105th place finish from 2200+ runners at the UKIPT DTD where he knocked out Simon Deadman on day 1. Gareth is at Aspers for the full 10 days and has entered nearly every event, I"m hoping he can start off his APAT medal collection this week
I know Gareth is very excited and proud to be playing for Wales!
Dai Llewelyn
Dai is a very experienced player, he has numerous final tables on the Sky Poker Tour to his name, a good mixed game player also, final tabling APAT Omaha side events in the past. Dai was warming up for this event by playing the Dealers Choice games in Cardiff till 4am this morning with me, Dai was absolutely killing the table!! Mostly with laughs but I think he won some hands as well
I"ve known Dai for years and I"m delighted to have him on the team
Warren Jones
Me, I"ve got 3 gold medals but you can"t live on past achievements forever, although I"m trying to!
I would love to win my first WCOAP bracelet with Wales and be a member of the jangle jangle World Champion bracelet club!
I"m looking forward to this event enormously and hope the 4 of us can do ourselves and Wales proud
The Wales Team would like to wish all other competing countries the very best of luck!
