I"m loving this.

PLO8 and OFC.

I confess I would have preferred the Bank Holiday weekend but I understand that those APATers with families might disagree.

An excellent start to Season 9.

Now, get Southend on the schedule!

Could never have been the BH weekend Paulie, there"s a little tournment going on in Nottingham that week.  Something about a $1m guaranteed prize pool.

I think I"ll give that one a miss though.  Might be able to squeeze an APAT weekend in before heading stateside.

Trying to get "approval" for a poker weekend a few days before a Vegas trip might be a step too far though

I"ve just tried to book at room at the Ricoh and they have two conferences on and all rooms are fully sold out already, so none of us APATers will be able to stay there on Saturday 30th.

Surely the casino would have thought to check that when in discussions with Tom ?

There are a number of other hotel options, but I know a lot of players liked being able to stagger to their rooms from the bar after a long day playing poker socialising

Novotel (by Junction 3), usually the reserve hotel, also fully booked. Premier in by Junction 2 is £126 for 3 nights. Anybody have any better suggestions as that is quite a way away. Dayes Hotel which is also about a 10 min drive away is £150.

As Leigh says, we had to select this weekend for various reasons, and unfortunately yes the Ricoh hotel is only free Fri and Sun nights (for those who don"t mind changing hotel) but fully booked Sat night.

I"ve booked in here for 2 persons in twin room with breakfast for 3 nights Fri, Sat and Sun for £92 per person http://www.britanniahotels.com/hotels/royal-court-hotel-coventry/

It"s only a 10 min drive to Ricoh, and it has a nice gym, swimming pool, steam room and sauna - and free parking.

And for what it"s worth, for those looking to stay on a budget, the Ibis Coventry South is about £40 a night that weekend.

Nothing special obviously, but it works and it cheap. 15 min drive/taxi to the Ricoh, so guess that might be a problem for those without cars or who want to have a drink, but it"s an option.

Nothing special obviously, but it works and it cheap. 15 min drive/taxi to the Ricoh, so guess that might be a problem for those without cars or who want to have a drink, but it"s an option.

I just booked 3 nights at Dayes Inn Chorley, for £129 via booking.com, which is fully amendable and can be cancelled up until 12pm on 29th May which is the day of arrival. £43/night sounds like a decent deal. only 10 minute drive from casino.

I"ve booked the Premier Inn M6/J2 for 3 nights, £126 all in. Ger too.

As an alternative, the Premier Inn Nuneaton/Coventry is about the same distance from the Ricoh (4.5m / 10mins) and is only £39 a night for each of Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
