Vegas 2015 - Time to get excited
« on: May 12, 2015, 23:27:06 PM »
Okay, with just over 4 weeks before I fly I can now start to get excited. Vegas Baby.  ;D

So first things first: I know there"s a few of us out there so who"s going & when?

I"m going to be there 14th June to 27th June . Probably going to see Penn & Teller, going shooting, and a few other things.
I"m bouncing around a couple of hotels: Harrahs, Gold Coast and Planet Hollywood this time and I"ll be catching up with a few people I know will be out there - but the more the merrier! (Anyone who fancies catching up, having a beer or two, club crawl, etc - send me a message with your dates/location/general plan and we"ll sort something out.

Currently, I have an extra bed going if anyone is interested (I"m kinda OCD so I"m going to actually know who you are). Again, message me if interested.

Probably putting together a tourney schedule, plenty of cash, beers, food, music, and general fun (not sure what order that"ll be, but it"ll be awesome).

Finally, is anybody interested in buying any action if I put a package together? If so what would you like to see in it? What sort of % would you like? What price point for 1%?

Plenty of options, currently running idea"s through my head, including not running any packages.

4-5 tourneys $150-$300? WSOP extended levels event? couple venetian deepstacks $400-$600? 1/2 different packages?

I may play the WSOP extended levels event if I can sell/cover 50% of entry fee?

I"ll be putting a tourney package together for myself regardless, probably $2K -$3K, anything bigger I would probably want to sell 30-50%.

I"ll start a separate staking thread if I decide to offer a package.

Anyway, let"s get this party started.....

Live Pub Poker League prizewinners are heading out 4th - 11th June, along with the WCOAP Main Event winner Daniel Lewis and Season 8 Player Of The Year Champ Bill Sheppard - plan as follows:

Thur 4th - arrive (met at airport - transport to local "shop" to stock up on cheap snacks and drinks etc, plus visit to "Las Vegas Sign" for photos, with a drive up the Las Vegas Strip to The Excalibur Hotel to check in)

Fri 5th - "Freeroll" in location tbc - 2 x seats in WSOP #18 $1k bracelet event to the top two players - drinks on completion

Sat 6th - late afternoon/evening visit to downtown Freemont Street and pub crawl

Sun 7th - visit to venue of WSOP (Rio Hotel) - #18 starts at 12:00 noon and will play to circa 02:00 and come back for the final day 2 at 13:00 on Mon 8th - 2 x entries from Freeroll will be playing

Mon 8th - afternoon/early evening drinks get-together (bars/casinos along the strip tbc)

Tue 9th - free day/night to visit local attractions and/or take in an evening show

Wed 10th - final day/night

Looking outside the regular everyday tourneys I was particularly impressed with the offerings at Aria, Planet Hollywood, Wynn, Venetian, Rio, Golden Nugget and Binnions and we"ve highlight a few to suit our timings:

Sun 7th (WSOP #18 2 x Freeroll entrants playing)

12pm Rio #18 $1000 NLHE (fin 2am) (2-day event) - 5k stack, 30-40 mins

3pm Rio Deepstack $235 NLHE - 15k 30 mins

6pm Rio Deepstack $185 NLHE - 10k 30 mins

7pm Aria $150 NLHE - 12k 30 mins

7pm Planet Hollywood Daily Deepstack $130 $7.5k GTD - 10k 20 mins

10pm Rio Deepstack £135 - 5k 30 mins

Mon 8th

12pm Wynn $300 NLHE $25k GTD - 12k 30 min

7pm Aria $150 NLHE - 12k 30 mins

7pm Planet Hollywood Daily Deepstack $130 $7.5k GTD - 10k 20 mins

Tue 9th

12pm Wynn $300 NLHE $25k GTD - 12k 30 min

1pm Aria $235 NLHE - 15k 30 mins

7pm Aria $150 NLHE - 12k 30 mins

7pm Planet Hollywood Daily Deepstack $130 $7.5k GTD - 10k 20 mins

Wed 10th

12pm Wynn $300 NLHE $25k GTD - 12k 30 min

1pm Aria $235 NLHE - 15k 30 mins

7pm Aria $150 NLHE - 12k 30 mins

7pm Planet Hollywood Daily Deepstack $130 $7.5k GTD - 10k 20 mins

(obv there are loads more - I found this very useful http://www.pokeratlas.com/poker-tournaments/las-vegas-nevada ) - overall, think the events at Aria pretty good - click on the "Special Events" tab on the top menu and then click into each casino and you"ll see their "special events" being held during WSOP - eg Golden Nugget Grand Series full schedule etc - actually click here http://www.pokeratlas.com/poker-tournament-series).

Am sure we are there earlier than most others, myself extending my stay this year to be 1st - 17th June as it"s my 50th Birthday treat... so I"m heading to Gatwick on the Sunday night (early Monday!) that the APAT English in Coventry finishes...and staying in Excalibur, Golden Nugget and Rio as and when they suit where I"ll be playing.

Good luck to everyone going!

I was going to put this in the WSOP fantasy teams thread, but I think it belongs better here.

I haven"t any sign of our own players so far in the updates, but now we have one.

LPPL player Liam Alcock, a final-tablist last year, finishing 5th (yes you read that right - 5th), is at it again.

He has gone through in #16 The Millionaire-Maker in joint 499th place with 44,300 chips. 1,118 remain, with 747 to cash, so we could have our first cash of the year later today.
5th place - Portsmouth Snooker Club £10 rebuy
