Des

Just a thought,  I would think this thread is going to end up a mile long with wonna be players wishing to represent England. I would guess that proportionately we would have much more players wanting to take part.

How about having an A and B team or north and south or a team of ranked players and a second team of wild card selections??

We have a very competitive looking tournament to look forward to Nigel and I think adding a second England team of any ilk would dilute the credibility we are seeking to bring to the event.  By its very nature it should be extremely difficult to get into the National team.  I think Alan has a difficult job but we can be very confident that he will pull together the best possible selection of players for this event.

very good idea if possible the more players that get the chance the better !
Obviously if the structure allows , maybe another 2 teams so 10 in all , would that work 10 seater tables ???
It could be a team of wildcard from any nation, a team of past champs, the top 4 ranked no matter what nationality , a freeroll with top four winning a seat or any other weird and wonderful ideas!!
All obviously if structure allows 10 teams what do you all think ???

Obviously we"d all like to play in this (except me cos I"m rubbish and don"t want to show myself up  ;D ), but this event should be a showcase of the best players each nation can put together. Imho, what Des has said about diluting the credibilty of the event by including National second teams also applies to the idea of a wild card team etc.

Would like to be considered for this. Please dont take into consideration the way the "aces" were played on TV!

There"s nothing like your poker credentials being broadcast for all to judge.

Hope you make the team Tim.

This thread might be kept to a minimum if the people who didn"t want to play or can"t play posted instead of those who did want to play.

Selection Process Update:

As already stated the APAT rankings will be taken into consideration, but will not be the only criteria.

I will also be taking into account spelling, punctuation, grammar and how often people SHOUT.
