Whats your card guard?
« on: August 18, 2008, 23:19:22 PM »
Heres one for all you out there. What is your card guard?

Mine is in the shape of a poker chip. The centre is glass with a real 4 leaf clover inside.

I use a Gurkha.  Little bloke called Napei.  Tough as nails he is though.  Woe betide any dealer who mucks my cards prematurely.  This is him:

Some dealers might take your cards even if they"re behind the line.

And some tables don"t have a physical line.

They"re a good idea to prevent dealers scooping up your cards accidentally.  The problem with them is you must remember to use them every hand.  A lot of players will not bother using their card protector if they"ve looked at their cards and have no intention of playing the hand, so it"s possible to gain a wee bit of information.

i personally dont use one (i had planned to use one of my apat medals but it just seems a bit to showy  ;)).
they do can come in handy when tables are self dealt. I often deal at my local casino and have on two occasions accidently mucked players hands, including muckin my own when i had called an all in by santino67!!! that was embarrasing  :-[ im with rob though i think a chip would suffice :)

It"s good marketing for APAT as well, as long as you"re playing with people who are at the very least slightly interested in what the medal was for.

Personally, I think APAT shirts are better for marketing APAT, rather than the medals - the shirts being within the grasp of mere mortals such as I  :D

Not so sure that the shirt makes such a good card guard though......

Mine is Glass rectangle.

Etched with;

Garage Poker Tour

MrMacacan.

Always use the card guard, but always make sure that I use it the same every hand.
It can give information if not used correctly.

I have seem many players lose their cards with no guard.
One big one, a player pushed all in with no cards, his cards had gone, he lost
all of his chips.

8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
Cheers
