The comeback story nearly happened. From one BB, Grieme worked his way back and into a sizeable lead, before it was snatched away. Yesterday, after slightly less than 5 hours play and 151 hands into the final table, they reached heads-up. They then played heads-up for four more hours and reached hand 367. Today they played for another hour and a half and reached hand 460. That"s over 300 hands head-up, more than twice as many hands it took to reduce from nine players to two.
At hand 457, Grieme had accumulated a 10.5m to 3m advantage and looked like winning. Then, after playing all that time, they managed to get all-in pre-flop three hands in a row, Ziskin won all three hands, and it was over in a flash.
David Vamplew finished 20th and Vinny Pahuja 29th, both racking up their sixth cash so far this year. My favourite, Lutz Klinkhammer, was 39th.
