However, saying that, I don"t think it matters that much.

APAT is going to be going for a good few years yet, so we had quite a few $20 tournaments in season one, loads of $10 tournaments in season two - whatever we have in season three can always be amended in subsequent seasons.

22 dollars worked well on stars when there were less tournaments

+1

...

Have the same number of events as the live championships (just 7 or so - English, Welsh, Scottish, Irish, UK, European & World) with a similar level of buy-in. With satellites obviously.

Then underneath that a regular weekly $5-20 buy-in online league. Non-ranking for the APAT title but a championship in its own right.

Just a general observation - but I don"t think many people will want to play a satellite for an online event. So most of the entrants will be direct buy ins, therefore it will largely be restricted to those that can afford the direct buy in (not because people on lower budgets can"t get in via the satellites - but because they will choose not to).

I think the introduction of Antes would be a good thing also, Season 3 now so time to bring in the natural structure of a large MTT

I would like to see more variety games, eg Stud, Omaha etc.

I am happy with the amount of online games that there are although would like to see a higher buy in for the fortnightly games to $20, higher than that would be difficult for a lot of APAT members.

Wouldnt like to see the amount of the Nationals changed, £75 is just fine.

Defo hope to see the Team Event for next season (although with the success of the last one, think its a given it will be in)

With regard to advance notice re Nationals, to be able to know in advance if you have either qualified or bought in makes a huge difference to booking cheaper flights and accommodation, would ideally like to see earlier notification in S3.

If we introduce Antes tho we shouldn"t have a 40 min 150/300 level. I think it"s good that we haven"t had this level in S2 Live National games - in a two day event this is the early "squeeze" we need IMO.

The lack of Antes in Online games in S2 were due to restrictions within BlueSq software. I think the 4,000 starting stack and 15 min blinds worked well in compensating this and would like to see this structure rolled out in S3. And $20 Buy-Ins.

I"d love to see a monthly event with the same structure and buy in as last night"s online main event.

I would also like to see fewer online events than season two but with a $20 or $25 buy in. I would also like to see a few more online events in omaha and stud.

Regardless of what is in store for series 3 I can honestly say that I am looking forward to it and can hardly wait for it to get underway. I am sure Des and the APAT team will come up trumps again.

i think the cost for national live games is fine at £75 , and for online $20 suits me and most others pockets . With regard to the amount of online games i think its fine bearing in mind a lot of members have children and a night in playing an APAT online event is great if nothing else is on.
other points
Antes  - why not
150/300 structure - yep
amount of nationals - fine
advance notice of live events - great idea especially from us northeners

Why do we need an "early squeeze" in a deep-stack tournament? Surely the whole point of championing deep-stack tourneys is to give you a chance to "play", however you decide to define play - enough to chips to be fast and loose early; enough chips to sit tight and wait for "that" hand.

I hope we do see antes introduced, but I also hope they are introduced "correctly"... eg. 100/200 then 25/100/200 not 100/200 then 25/150/300 (levels are just for example, I"m not suggesting that is when they should be introduced... just that the last level should be repeated when they come in.)

As for online tournaments... well I"ll give my opinion but at this point in time I have no intention of ever playing another STT or MTT on ipoker again - ever!  >:(

I think one [National] ranking tournament per month is plenty, the buy-in must be more than $10, although I don"t belive it should be anywhere near the live buy-in. I think $20 worked well in S1, but I would go for $30 and a 5k/15min structure. And how about getting BlSq to add a bit of value with a seat in an online GUKPT [freezeout] satellite to the winner each month?

To take up the slack in the online schedule...
- how about a weekly (3/mth) $20 satellite to a Live National weekend, 1 seat for every $250 ($150"ish for seat + $100"ish to cover one night"s ex"s - 3 nights for JonMW!) Operate it like Stars do, the first seat won by an individual is non-refundable & non-transferable, further seats may be taken as cash.
- a seperate "Online Series" of mid-weekly $10 tournaments, 3k/15min structure, try out the different poker variants in this series, to see if enough people really want them. Winner of this series wins a seat to WCOAP ME, 2nd and 3rd win a seat each to the WCOAP side event of their choice.

That"ll do for now... I"ve spent 30 mins of my life thinking about this - expect Des to announce S3 detalis tomorrow!!

I"d love the chance to play in the team event representing Scotland. Why not have a 10 country/10 player event which could be narrowed down to 4 from each country through initially each countries" 10 players facing off at the same table. This could then split into 4 tables of 10, 1 from each country until a final table is reached.

Anyone any thoughts?

Agree with Alan on this point.  The whole point of the deep-stack and long levels is to increase the skill factor.  Reduce the time spent with low blind-to-stack ratios and all you"re doing is increasing the luck factor and providing less skilful players with a greater opportunity to do well.

Agree again.  The antes are there to maintain the skill level.  A sudden jump in the amount in the starting pot creates a situation where people suddenly go from sitting with a decent stack that allows play to one where they have very few options.  Of course, this time must come in any tournament (otherwise people will just sit and wait for monsters all the time), but it should be a gradual process.  Jumping from one level to the next AND sticking antes on top makes no sense.  The antes need to be introduced into a "repeating" level as Alan said.

I think a slightly larger buy-in (even if it"s just $20-$40) makes the tournament more "worthwhile".  The structure is slow and fairly deep, but the slightly larger buy-in makes the prize pool a lot more enticing and gives people something more to play for.

Interesting idea.  It keeps the APAT online events as "events" rather than saturating the schedule with them, but also gives other APAT events in between that are worth playing.

Alan"s on a roll.  This makes sense as an inexpensive way for people to learn and practice the other forms of poker they might not be that familiar with.

Love the idea of low buy ins for the different games, that would entice people to play the variants, and develop their games, which is what APAT is all about.

Definitely agree with this. I know not everyone has large bankroll or whatever but to me I can"t focus on a game at all unless it"s at least $20-$30 buy-in... The end result is just not worth my concentration if the buy-in is below this and I lose interest easily... I agree to keep a $10 tournament when playing games other than Hold "em to help introduce people to other games but for NLHE online events I definitely think there should be less with a slightly higher buy-in.

I also think maybe have an online league seperate from the national rankings and have one national ranking online event per month with a $30-$50 buy-in...
