WCOAP 2017 - England Team
« on: February 12, 2017, 13:37:43 PM »
Firstly I"d like to say thank you to everyone who applied to be on the team and sorry to those who didn"t make it. As my predecessors have all said, this is one of the hardest parts of the job and I have had to make some truly tough decisions, but made them I have and here is my team, all long time supporters of APAT.

Craig Dawson

Craig has been one of APAT's most successful players of the last few years with various large cashes in major tournaments, along with a number of APAT final tables. Craig is constantly looking to improve his game and although I"ve butted heads with him across the felt, both real and virtual, on many occasions, I very rarely get the better of him.

Joe Carr-Hill

Although Joe hasn"t had as much success in APAT as the rest of the team, his trips to Vegas over the years have yielded good profits along with games in his local casino. Joe is also a proficient Omaha player and he won the last online PLO side event but sportingly agreed to chop the prize money after his opponent had been disconnected heads up.

Shirley Cole

I would have been mad to have ignored the rest of the team that came so close to winning in 2016, so I have picked my captain from last year. Shirley is a former footballer who has channelled her competitiveness into poker and with great success too, winning the English APAT at Luton a couple of years ago. After her efforts last year, I feel she deserves another go.

Please give this team all your support as I fully believe we can bring home the bracelets.

I am honoured to be chosen by Matt to play for the World Championship of Amateur Poker England Team. It is a privilege to represent my country. This is a strong team that I have shared tables with a few times before.
There was strong competition for places. Thanks again Matt.
