APAT Coventry Player Briefing - Aug 17
« on: July 10, 2017, 21:12:27 PM »
Ladies & Gents, we are pleased to confirm details for the APAT UK Amateur Poker Championship schedule of events that will take place during Grosvenor's Goliath 2017, where I have the pleasure of being your host, with Lucy Amos providing a live update/blog/photos throughout and Leigh Wiltshire joining us to produce a live stream.

For questions etc, please post on THIS THREAD or PM myself HERE or send a message via Facebook HERE

GUARANTEE YOUR SEAT IN ADVANCE

Download the software for APAT/Grosvenor HERE and buy in via the Online Holding Tank - simply select the Grosvenor Live tab, then the APAT tab and click on the APAT event you wish to play during Goliath 2017:

Thu 3 Aug 6pm APAT 8-Game Championship Day 1 £83 (est end 4am) (Day 2 Fri 4 Aug 8pm) (open event)

Sat 5 Aug 4pm APAT UK Amateur Poker Championship Day 1 £83 (est end 2am) (Day 2 Sun 6 Aug 1pm)

Sun 6 Aug 1:30pm APAT PLO Championship £58 (open event)

PLEASE NOTE:   that if you do not subsequently de-register from the Online Holding Tank before it closes then at that time you are registered for the event - you do NOT need to turn up at the venue and register as APAT will have done this for you (and paid your buyin to the venue), and your chips will go into play from shuffle up and deal, whether you have been/are in attendance or not, and your blinds will be posted when due.  Also, after the Holding Tank closes, if you are unable to use your seat, then you will need to off-load your seat and you may wish to utilise the APAT Seat Exchange facility HERE for this.

Reserve a seat for the APAT Main Event by clicking on the button above - this facility will close when all allocated seats are reserved or at 9pm on Fri 4th Aug 2017 latest.

Clarification on the APAT Eventbrite facility is available HERE, and ALL players who reserve a seat must register in person, and pay the FULL buy-in and reg fee, at the venue poker room (in the casino, NOT in the Ricoh Arena) cash desk AT LEAST ONE HOUR before the event advertised start time, otherwise the seat will be freed up at this time - EXPECT AND PREPARE FOR LONG QUEUES!

NB:  A CHANGE TO THE USUAL APAT EVENTBRITE for the APAT Main Event during Goliath... seats are reserved until ONE HOUR PRIOR TO EVENT START TIME and NOT 'actual event start time' as has been the case historically.

ALL players bought-in in advance of the event starting (either via the APAT/Grosvenor Online Holding Tank or direct entry with APAT (eg Online Satellite token or prizewinner/added value) will have their chips put into play at the start of the event and, if not seated, will be blinded out from the start.  You DO NOT need to register in the venue prior to the event start - APAT will provide your name to the venue and register you into the event (and pay the venue your buyin) - so just turn up and take your seat (even if late arriving) - any player who registers and buys in at the venue will also have chips put into play at the start even if they are not seated.

EVENT REGISTRATION

ON THE DAY Players can buy-in at the venue for available seats on a first-come-first-served basis from 2 hours prior to each event.

Players may enter any of the APAT events up to the end of the late entry period - once this time is reached no further players will be seated, and this includes any players who may be on an Alternates List.  Basically, if on an Alternates List you will only be offered a seat up to the end of the late entry period, after which any Alternates List will be scrapped.

You are advised to turn up well in advance to complete event registration, including allowing time to join as a member if needed - and allowing for long queues.

Players may leave the venue after registering for an event but we encourage you to be back and seated by 5 minutes prior to the event advertised start time.  However, it is not obligatory to be in your seat at the start of the events and if not, chips will be put into play, and remain in play, and you will be blinded out.

Live Updates

A live update report/blog will be provided throughout all APAT events, with associated photos, and a live stream production will also be running.

Terms and Conditions

Please note the event is subject to the terms & conditions of the Amateur Poker Association & Tour.

All events are subject to APAT/Venue discretion on the day, and structures/levels may be altered and timings changed if viewed in the best interests of the event.

Cancellations

Once a seat has been purchased, and if plans change, then players need to utilise the APAT Seat Exchange within the APAT Forum HERE to trade their seat at the face value.  Seat Exchange Guidelines HERE apply.

Amateur poker player ONLY events are exactly that - only players as classified by APAT are eligible to enter these tournaments.  In the event that an entrant is classed by APAT as not eligible to play, but they have entered, then they will be immediately disqualified and removed from the event and their chips taken out of play.  The entry/actions of any such players, and the affect on any other player or situation, will not be retrospectively re-considered nor compensated.

Finally As a member of the Amateur Poker Association and Tour, we would like you to be aware of your expected role in our collective responsibility to ensure that the weekend is memorable and enjoyable for not only every participant - but for everyone involved within the venue.  We would appreciate you doing your bit to ensure that everyone comes away having had the best possible poker experience with APAT.

The best of luck to everyone playing.

Regards parking they have gone all posh at the Ricoh now.

When you pull up to the barrier the camera reads your number plate and lets you in with no ticket. On the desk inside reception there is a keypad (ipad looking thing) where you just enter your car reg number and it validates it for you. When you drive out the barrier will lift automatically.

Also Tom the big conference room where the tournaments are held will "close" at the end of play each day (early morning) but the casino itself is open 24/7 as the cash games run around the clock the whole time the Goliath festival is on.

what games make up the 8 game tourney?

Assuming it's the same as the WCOAP we ran in Manchester earlier in the year, it will be :-

The 8-Game Players Championship will be played 7-handed, have 8 hands per game regardless of the number of players, play to a Final Table on Day 1 and feature the following 'running order':

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw
Limit Hold'em
Limit Omaha 8
Razz
Limit 7 Card Stud
Limit Stud 8
No Limit Hold'em
Pot Limit Omaha (no Ante)

Sorry if this has been covered already but are you allowed to multi table the Goliath and APAT?

So say if someone makes Day 2 of the Goliath which is played on the Saturday is he allowed to register and play in the APAT main event which starts on the same day and effectively multi table these two tournaments?

Thanks

Attention all APATers attending the Goliath

Please ensure you get any seat transfer requests in ASAP, through customer services.

You will need to provide your online alias and the recipients. Online pre-reg holding tanks close at 6am on Friday.

You will still be able to transfer your ticket at the event, but the process will be much more laboured.

I'm just getting confirmation on this for you Lukas.  I'm pretty sure it won't be allowed.

The APAT Main does start at 4pm with 7 levels of late reg, so if you were still in the Goliath at that point (Somewhere around 9pm), you are hopefully going to be pretty deep and wouldn't therefore be worried about playing the APAT Main.

Latest reg in the APAT Main is going to give you around 35 BB's

I have no idea where Hall 5 actualy is...is there anywhere I can find this out?

A quick map would be ideal.

You won't get lost Paulie.... Hall 5 is the side/back hall attached to the main hall where Goliath is mostly held... and that main hall is Hall 3...
