Registering for events
« on: November 24, 2008, 20:53:25 PM »
Hi im new here but i want to enter some of the £75 tournaments for 2009 (ive seen the schedule hasnt been put up yet) but preferably something in the Midlands, i was just wondering how i would register for the event. Would i need to ring ang give my bank account details or online? and how fast do the seats sell out?

Firstly, welcome to APAT Mr Donk, I"m sure you"re going to enjoy the roller coaster ride that is APAT.

In season 2 there were 3 methods of getting your hands on a seat at a National:-

1 Qualifying via a live Regional event
2 Qualifying via an online satelite, and
3 Buying in directly via a website link

Although we don"t have details of season 3 yet, and the various events, the methods of season 2 (or similar) are likely to be in place for season 3.

The buy in via the website (or the "clickfest" as it"s known) is a manic affair where fast typing fingers are the order of the day  ;D These seats generally sell out within a few minutes, but it"s a case of keying debit card details, plus your name and address etc, into the form displayed.

You would then sit with your fingers crossed for the next hour whilst Des updates the site with the names of the fortunate few.

I"d advise you to come back to the forum regularly over the next 3 or 4 weeks. More details and, hopefully, a full schedule for season 3 should be displayed here, in that time.

Ian

So is this thing stupidly hard to enter then? and when you say registering online is over in minutes is that quite literal?

"Over in minutes" is indeed quite literal. With usually only 200 seats available it"s not that surprising.

Don"t be disheartened though, my other half and I have never failed in a "clickfest" (8 National events each) so if you"re on the ball you"ve as good a chance as anyone.

You"ve also got online and live qualifiers as well.........

Don"t mind me the regionals are great craic as are the on line and believe me while they may be difficult they are not impossible -- and the "clickfest" as it is called is probably the fairest way to get the rest .......
