well i just decided - Sky sucks!! (well the players on it do anyway!!)..

Playing 25p/50p 6 handed, and have around £58. In Big Blind with AA. UTG raises to £1.50..everyone called.... I raised to £10 (pot is £8 when it gets to me).... all folded expect one who flat calls. Flop KJ9 with 2 spades. I bet out for £10 - villain calls. Turn rag - I shove all in for another £38 - villain snap calls.... third spade on the river and his 7s 3s in good!

sighhhhhhhhhhhhh onwards and sideways. off to bed early.

John Murray (MintTrav) is playing in the $250 GUKPT 2009 qualifier tonight on Blue Square at 8:30pm.

I have an update on John"s progress.

Tournament was cancelled.  I guess it didn"t reach the magic 10 players.

wp, gg.

Yeah, GUKPT game was cancelled but they gave me the $250 instead, which was probably a better result than if the game had been played! As Leigh knows, my profit is a bit less than that as I had about 5 rebuys at $12 a shot in the qualifier, whereas he didn"t have any. Played really badly in the rebuy section and the Heads-Up. The in-between bit must have been okay, but I can"t remember any of it. At the end Leigh was winning the Heads Up hands down. He kept dragging my chips over to his stack bit by bit. I got a lot of them back in two big hands, but each time they would then start drifting back to him. Ended when we both hit flushes, K-high v T-high (Q on board).

How"s this for a bad beat. I played the Big Deal tourney on Gala"s site tonight. Supposed to be $300 buyin but I picked up a seat from a $30 qualifier.
549 runners, 60 to be paid. 60th gets $700, 1st gets $41k.
Anyway, down to 75 left in and I"m sinking fast in 66th with 6200 chips when I pick up KK on the button. 1 limper in cutoff and I raise to 2400 (BB 800). I didn"t want to go all-in and chase everyone out of the hand as I needed to collect some chips from this hand to ensure I got paid. 1 caller - cutoff (who had 11k at the start of the hand). Flop 3J4. He checked and I put my remaining 3,800 in. I"m not sure what he has but it can"t be two pair. He didn"t raise pre-flop, so the chances of AA or JJ are reduced, though he did call my raise. AJ through TJ are possible. Could be a middle-pair, especially if he is a non-believer. With 9,800 now in the pot, I"m hoping he will call, which he did with...............QT. What? How ridiculous. Couldn"t be better for me. Turn 9; River 8 - He has made a straight and I"m out for zilch. Very strange - even if he thought I was bluffing, he wasn"t beating anything. If he had even had a 3, there could have been some justification for his call. I can"t be cross with him; he did his best to double me up, but poker is annoying when poor play and luck come out on top, especially when that potentially costs you a lot. He went on to win $1500 for 18th out of 549, so he can"t be a bad player, but he sure had a brainstorm that hand.

Of course if a decent/sober player had the never ending string of pocket pairs that Duke had they"d have won it. :D

I ended Sunday with a 2nd, 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st

Sadly the first 2 were $3 sit and goes and the last 3 were $2 HU"s - but still always good to end the weekend on a high
