I know I am over 2 weeks late but the first game of season 3 was not worth talking about. After all the anticipation and all the discussion on buy-in (to much to low) the structure, how many will play, no regional's and so on. So the fist tournament had arrived, it was like the start of the football season, all teams are level and this year will be your teams year then 90 minuets later, you know nothing as changed.
I sat down at 7.45, turned the computer on, logged on to Blue Square, played 2 hands in an hour, turned the computer off, turned on casualty that's right casualty. The 2 hands were straight forward, without boring you it was a flush vs. a bigger flush and then a flopped top 2 pair vs. a flopped bottom set and that was that, the end.
Now on to the most exciting part of season three, The Poker League. This must be the most talked about section of the new season. It has brought a lot of new people to APAT. Now there seems to be a lot of talk about the best way to tackle it, do you need as many members as possible are do you try and get quality in your team? The tournament is 3 in 1. 1st it's a $10 game so you are playing for your self, for the cash, 2nd you are playing for the points for your team, as the top 3 teams go forward to the final, 3rd you are playing for points within your team as only the top 4 will get the GUKPT seats.
The one thing I don't like about it is that I have to play for Leeds. I don't mean that in a bad way, as we have the best captain in the league.(I don't care that he is Scottish
) It's just that I am from Rotherham, South Yorkshire and Leeds is in West Yorkshire so you can see were I am going with this. I was brought up hating Leeds but here I am playing for them and on top of that against the best football team in the world Liverpool (after the millers that is)
After looking at the teams, all I can say is that I feel sorry for the people who live in the north and south as the winners will come from the central division and that will be LEEDS.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN
Away from APAT I won my first live tournament over Christmas (chopped top two) so Ian, you can not say I can not play live. The next time you sit next to me I won't let you take my blind, over and over and over again. Over the past month I have had another go at cash games. And guess what I won. 4 out of 5 sessions making a steady profit then one night it all went Pete Tong and the profit was gone with a bit more on top. So it's back to what I know best, tournaments.
