Glad to hear you will continue to play. Good luck in the qualifiers. I might play the online game on Saturday but depends what I am doing. There is a game at Aspers that is worth a look as well. Or I could just go to the pub (which looks favourite at the moment). Hope to see you playing more APAT tournaments in the future.

Chris, see earlier message on this thread, below.

I"ve just called Aspers and it seems like 6th November is a special "Bonfire Bonanza" event.  The details are:

1.  2 day event, 7pm start on 6th November, 2pm on 7th November
2.  £150+£15 entry
3.  10,000 chip starting stack
4.  40 minute clock
5.  Dealer dealt
6.  Entry includes complimentary buffet

I"m still intending to go, anyone else?

Trip report on Aspers Bonfire Bonanza:

Pros:
40 minute levels, 10k stack and dealer dealt gave plenty of play.
The standard was much weaker than I expected (very similar to the lower buy-ins there).  Playing classic TAG worked well, picking on the 4-5 on my table who were loose-passive with lots of 3-betting and being more careful around the others, keeping pots small against them.

Cons:
Only 45 runners (but top prize over 2k).
Buffet was poor - just chilli tacos and rice.
Breaks were too long.
I didn"t cash (came 14th after getting all in on flop with the nuts (nut flush) only to have a set fill up to knock me out, would have been chip leader but it wasn"t to be).

I"m not going to be around for the 100+10 for the first Saturday in December I"m afraid, have satted into Betfair"s tournament in Vienna, shall we get together in Jan or Feb?

Feb works well for me.

January is APAT Spain and hopefully the champion of champions event (if I win the rankings) + the Team Event. I may also play the DTD Deepstack in Jan if it fits in.

If anybody fancies the trip to DTD let me know.
What is the event in Vienna? I will keep an eye on it see how you are doing. Good luck with it.

Sounds like a plan for Feb.  I"d like to try out DTD at some point so I"d be on for a trip there sometime.  The event in Vienna is the Betfair Live event (https://site.poker.betfair.com/promotions/betfair_poker_live_vienna.html. Only 270 euros but 100k guaranteed so worth a go).

Feb is good for me too.  I"m hoping to make the team event in January. Hard luck at Aspers Mike, Vienna sounds good though. Best of luck :)

Was that the £15 Tournament or the cash games?

I have been at Cheltenham but should be back for tonight or I can jut play on the laptop probably. Gotta watch the F1 first though.
