Speaking to Gareth on the AA hand he himself had been trapping pre-flop with 88

In retrospect, it could have all gone in pre-flop

so he"s optimistic given he is still there!

In the interests of balance, good luck to Scott as well.  Didn"t realise he was from Corby.

Good work from both of you, and the heads-up sounds like a right battle.

A fantastic battle here

Gareth is chipping away with constant SB raises, mostly uncontested

Still too close to call

BUT WAIT

WE HAVE A CHAMPION..........

Scott raises from the SB with  ad 8c

Gareth re-raises with  9c 9s

Scott goes for it, Gareth calls

board  :3s: :2d: 4c

Oohs go up

turn  jh

river  td

and we have Gareth Ower as the European Amateur Poker Champion winning £3,750 and a GUKPT Grand Final Seat

Very well played to Scott Thacker 2nd for £2,250, a magnificent effort
