1 - WHO ARE YOU?
Matthew Milne, 23 , Edinburgh
2 - POST A PICTURE OF YOURSELF OR A LINK TO ONE (APAT OR OTHER)
3 - WHERE DO YOU COME FROM?
Edinburgh, Scotland
4 - TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?
I"m 23 years old Edinburgh born and bred. I"ve been in IT for 5 years and currently work for a firm that outsource to small businesses mainly supporting Windows Small Business Server2003 but everything that goes with it.
I"m engaged to be wed on the 19th Sept 2007 to my lovely fiancee of 4 years Nikki. We are getting married in the Venetian Hotel and Casino Las Vegas! (woot)
This year i"ve not managed to get as much poker in as i"d liked we bought a new house in january and couple that with organizing a wedding and a new job its hard to get much time in.
5 - WHAT IS YOUR POKER BACKGROUND?
I started playing freerols about 3 years ago.. I somehow won a freeroll for $200 and donked it off at $5/$10 nl. From there I was completely bitten by the poker bug and cut my teeth mainly in the prima rounders tournaments where I had and still have a great deal of success.
As my play established I found myself playing tournaments and basically lived on pokerstars under the handle "mattymillne" no idea why i spelt my surname wrong. Folklore states that I originally had mattymilne but forgot the logon and email details.
I digress, Tournament success came to me after taking down two $50 PL events pretty much back to back, then winning a WPT Atlantis Package, then winning my first live tournie for £1300. Its been a bit of a grind since then and in the last year or so APAT tournaments have been the majority of my time playing.
6 - WHAT IS YOUR PLAYING STYLE?
It depends on the rest of the table but as a rule probably TAG.
7 - WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE POKER PLAYER AND WHY?
Gotta be Hellmuth, great player and great comic value.. I"d love to sit at a table with him.
8 - WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ONLINE POKER SITE AND WHAT IS YOUR POKER ID THERE?
Its still pokerstars and i"m mattymilne there.
9 - WHAT ARE YOUR POKER ACHIEVEMENTS?
3rd in the inaugaural APAT live event in Birmingham
Played in the WPT Atlantis tournament in Nassau, Bahamas in 2005. Busted to a horrendusly bad beat 65 < AA all in on a 456 rainbow board for a 28k pot at the end of day 1.
Appeared in Poker Player Magazine
105th in the pokerstars sunday million
10 - WHAT DO YOU DISLIKE ABOUT LIVE POKER CURRENTLY, THAT YOU WOULD CHANGE?
The way the regulars treat new players. Really shocking.. My first trip to a casino people just took the piss out of my play etc it was really not nice. I can see alot of people being put off by that.
11 - HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT APAT?
Post on blondepoker forums.
12 -WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT APAT TOURNAMENTS, STANDARD OF PLAY AND STRUCTURE?
Having been lucky enough to play in a WPT event the starting stacks and the ability to play poker is truley how poker should be played. None of these crapshoot malarkys. The APAT events acheive this goal and coupled with the comeraderie travelling to live events are excellent to be a part of.
13 - HAVE YOU PLAYED AT AN APAT LIVE EVENT AND IF SO, WHAT WAS MOST MEMORABLE ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE?
Yes, 3
How about good and bad for these...
Good
Cashing in two final tabling in one.
Bad
Losing a 1200 euro pot in a side game in dublin :/
14 - WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF POKER?
I follow glasgow celtic as a season book holder and play far too much xbox360. We also enjoy watching a heap of films and going to the cinema.
15 - WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK OR FILM?
At the moment hmm I dunno maybe Casino .
16 - WHAT THREE MUSIC ALBUMS WOULD YOU TAKE TO A DESERT ISLAND WITH YOU?
Travis - the man who
Queen - Greatest Hits
Outkast - Speakerboxx/The Love below
17 - FINALLY, WHAT MESSAGE WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEAVE FOR YOUR FELLOW APAT MEMBERS?
Lets keep the APAT in the same spirit as season one going forward so we can all truley benefit from it.
