Debbie Kimm, for rhyming poker with mediocre. In second place is me, for rhyming ChezGer with wager. Debbie"s prize, appropriately, is a weekend in the beautiful and historic city of Limerick.
Founded by Vikings and resting on the mouth of the River Shannon, Limerick is known as one of the most welcoming places in Ireland. It has been the scene of many pivotal moments in Irish history, one notable incident being the declaration of the self-ruling Limerick Soviet, which issued its own currency and ruled Limerick from 15 April 1919 right up until 27 April 1919.

Your visit includes a trip to the extraordinary Cliffs of Moher in nearby County Clare, ranked the most dramatic cliffs in the world by this website:

Limerick is the birthplace of many famous people, including Richard Harris, Terry Wogan, that one from The Cranberries and probably some others. The climate is Temperate Oceanic or, in other words, it rains all the time. I recommend that you visit the Hunt Museum, which holds a Picasso, a da Vinci statue and a 9th Century Cross. All this is just fifteen minutes from Shannon Airport. You can probably get quite a good deal if you book in advance. Let us know how you get on.
