Informal poll at works says that Loki is going to walk away with it.

He"s got the power of Marvel Studios name recognition behind him.

Well, would you believe it? Two of the favourites eliminated. Loki Skylizard has gone down to Shamus Beaglehole by 2,360 to 2,054 and S hitavious Cook was just 60 votes short of Chillie Poon, 2,170 to 2,110. That"s the internet for you - we should know that simple double-meanings would come through against more interesting names.

As expected, Eve Gruntfest and Curvaceous Bass won by large margins. It has been confirmed that Bass is pronounced like the fish, which makes it all worthwhile.

So, it is dead person Curvaceous Bass v English/Northern Irish footballer Shamus Beaglehole and Miss Hong Kong Runner-Up Chillie Poon v flash flood researcher Dr Eve Gruntfest.

Shamus used to play for Chesterfield and has played for Northern Ireland Under-18s http://mobile.irishfa.com/news?id=5885, but his career seems to be in decline. After Chesterfield, he joined Askern FC near Doncaster http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/askernvilla/news/askern-sign-irish-under-18s-international-390169.html but doesn"t now appear to be associated with any team.

From here, the final should obviously be Gruntfest & Bass, but I fear the worst.

So the Irish Pres, Michael D Higgins, has been to visit the Queen.

Here is the menu from last night"s banquet at Windsor Castle:

English may be the Lingua Franca of business, but French is still the language of food. Good to see a Bombe on the menu to bring back old memories for Martin McGuinness, who was seated next to that well-known person of Irish connection, Shami Chakrabarti. Did there just happen to be a bombe on the menu? I"m inclined to think that they did it on purpose.

So much for Steve Redfern and his $800 PLO Hi-Lo result yesterday.

PLO Hi isn"t really my game, but I have just banked a four-figure sum for finishing 2/102 in a Full Tilt $1 game. That"s $19.38 added to my account, tyvm.

In your face, Redfern!

As we feared, asking the members of the internet to vote is likely to result in the lowest common denominator.

There have been some great names, but they have been voted down by the innuendoeratti.

The final is Shamus Beaglebum against Chillie Poonani.

And I don"t care any more.

This is Sam Abernathy, a photographer.

Here she is singing a ditzy song with her sister:

Four months ago, she started playing poker.

Until three weeks ago, she hadn"t ever won a poker tournament (though she had four second places in March). Then, in the first two weeks of April, she won six tournaments in a row at Caesars Palace.

Quote from Instagram - "I was pretty excited about my first 1st place the other day... So excited, I went and won two more yesterday."

Chris Webber is good, but he"s no Samantha Abernathy.

I hope, for the sake of the locals, that Calrl Pirlglrim never decides to move to China.

Plenty of fun near our office today. Nigel Farage was in town to press the flesh, but things didn"t go smoothly. First the UKIP bus, covered in slogans about Common Sense, veered dangerously to the right and crashed into a train station. Then the UKIPers were kicked off the Guildhall steps and told they couldn"t photograph Nigel there. All in all, not a good day for the nutters.

Is this the worst fold ever?

I have just finished playing a satellite. With 5 players left (4 seats), the short-stack shoved for 12,941. The SB called and the BB, who had posted 12k, with 194k behind, folded for the extra 941 chips.

It all worked out alright in the end though.

I"m selling a stake for the SCOOP series on the Blonde forum.

I"m just as happy (happier even) for any APATers to take 1% as the squillionaire professionals on there to take lumps.
