WP steve. Was rooting for you.

Once you got through that dangerous first table ;) I always thought you could go all the way

Just want to say well done again to Steve (and indeed the rest of the final table). I"ll have nightmares about that runner-runner straight for a while yet, but I had my fair share of luck on the way so can"t complain too much.

It was a brilliant weekend - so much thanks and appreciation to Des and the team. My everlasting memory will be of TK starting the final table commentary standing up and being very enthusiastic, and then 4 hours later slumped in the chair, mumbling that perhaps someone had raised, generally looking pretty forlorn... ;D ;D Great professionalism to keep going though.

Cheers, Tod

WP Tod - Glad you got some use from that "ginormous pot" you took against me - Hope to see you in Cardiff!

Just read through the 50 pages of updates - which took almost as long as the final table. ;)

Overwhelmed by the amount of support - thanks guys.

Very well played Steve. We should have just handed you the trophy at the start of Day1 but then again that wouldn"t have been as much fun would it!

I can"t quite describe my emotions right now - Really pleased to have reached FT and at one stage with 4 left I was at 3 BB and was praying for 3rd. Funny though "cos as soon as I had some chips again 1st was the only option. So really disappointed but on the other hand really pleased it has gone to a worthy winner.

As always a huge thanks goes to the APAT team (and the extented team) for yet other fantastic weekend. 53 sleeps "till Cardiff.  ;D

Well played, well deserved and fantastic result Steve (even though you did hammer my BB most orbits!), well played and well done for escaping our table of death with Jerri the dealer bless her... what were the odds on Aces again?? haha.

Gutted about bubbling in 26th but over the moon for fellow Stockton lad Stu Ward getting 15th  :) See you all in Wales...

Great effort from the organisers to keep the show on the road and the updates flying in ...

A little time to ready myself for more attrition ...

Something like 48000/1 I think I remember I really enjoyed that table suppose that is part of the reason why I kept hanging on

Thanks to all at APAT for a great two days.  If I was offered 6th before start of play I would have taken it so I should be happy I guess but a few too many bluffs before the final table cost me my chance.

Well done to Steve on the win well deserved from what I could see and well done to all the other finalists a good bunch of people and tough to play against.

See you all again soon

Brian

PS Those questioning the structure, please dont tweak it, give it another chance.  I think it was spot on.  The super super tight play around the bubble didn"t help and then the 2 hour break before the final table certainly didn"t help.

Very briefly, may post more later.

Well done to all those that cashed, final tabled, medalled (especially Stuart, long time overdue mate), and obviously to Steve and Tod for an excellent heads up. Fairly short, but I think most of the poker battling had been done in the hours previous.

Congrats on the win Steve, thoroughly deserved.

Overall, I thought the weekend was excellent and I have learned a few things.

1.  Never get involved in a pot with Linda Iwaniak.  I am going to lose.  Simple.

2.  The correct etiquette whilst playing a friendly Sit n Go in the hotel after day one is :-

When in the Small Blind and your mate string bets on the button, call for a ruling, it becomes a min raise and call it.

When the flop comes 7 7 3, claim for the flop to have hit you in the face, then check to allow him to shove all-in with his pocket sixes.

Then, and only then, can you flip over 7 3, and the laughter can start around the table.  You must allow for the pocket sixes player to repeatedly mumble about how can you call a string bet ffs.  ;D

3.  Steve Redfern"s win has been dedicated to Daniel "Kinboshi" Phillips.  Apparentely, when Steve joined APAT, one of the first posts he read was Daniel"s trip to the EPT in Copenhagen after winning some event in season one, that shouldn"t really count now  ;D.  On reading this thread, Steve said to himself, I want to do that.  And now, two years on, he has, and although Daniel thoroughly enoyed his long weekend in the glorious city of Copenhagen, I am sure Steve will find Luton most adequate.  As I pointed out to him at 2 o"clock this morning.  Sorry Steve, I wasn"t very subtle.   ;D

4.  Professional jousting is live and well in Kilmarnock.

I may add more at some point.  Well done all.

Leigh
