copy n pasted from elsewhere, Gala Leeds.
140 runners done in the day should be fun.
Saturday 25th April    5 pm. Start

£20 + one re-buy

£2000 ADDED PRIZE MONEY

5000 point stack

blinds start 25-50

20 minute clock

140 seats available

Following the success of our10th anniversary tournament which had this format we have decided to make this a regular feature of our schedule. The last Saturday in every month will have a £20 tournament with £2000 added to the pot by the casino.

The last one we did, we sold all 120 seats plus 9 alternates. The prize money was £7160.

This time we are doing 140 seats, so the pot should be nearer £8000 this time.

Seats are on sale now at the casino cash desk. If you want to play in this tournament I would advise booking early as seats are selling fast.

Are anybody planning on going to this?

ok this is a difficult one.

For playing experience, quality of cardroom etc it is Alea. I would prefer that this card room get all the runners, but it struggles.

However you have to go where the money is and most comps are fuller at Gala due to guarantees they give and their promise to have dealers (even though most of them aren"t very good). The organisation and quality of the cardroom at Gala is not very good (there is no tourney clock) but the value is there.

i don"t play live as often anymore and am restricted to weekends, so i just go to the comps i can make. Gala tilts me a bit but it has the value at the moment; the cash games at either venue are pretty juicy as well (if you play cash).

it may also depend what night you want to play and what they have on.

So even with the new events (since 1st April) Alea or still short on runners? I have not played at Gala, yet but it looks like Alea will soon stop poker tournaments unless it can pull its finger out.
I would normally play on a Friday (the only night I can get away from the Mrs) but I hate re-buys. The game at Alea is now unlimited re-buys so was looking at playing somewhere ells

Might try DTD but if you go deep (and that's the idea) I won't get home until about 4/5 am. Do you know what time the Friday tournaments finish at DTD?
