WCOOP 62 - Qualifier - $5,200 buy in - $10M g"tee

All going well - but QQ vs AK ... turns into AQx ... heaven ... until JT rivers the straight ... (hell)

Of course it is just a race ... but two rivered full houses and a rivered straight in a night is time to switch the computer off!

Earlier in the day 3rd from 27 in a qualifier with two paid ... smile ...

RT -$2635 (Minor Cash wins offsetting a little of tournament losses)

RT is weird now as I have lost interest in it. When I started the blog I was leaving my last job and knew that I would have six months to play poker and grind as required to pay for tickets to tournaments.

Nowadays - no time to grind - so it is pay for the ticket and WAIT for the returns.

I might be waiting forever??

Tournament form is good ... but at the crucial moment ... no traction to win the vital hand ... last night 85% chance to be more the double the average when the money went in ... river bink .. and dead ... (not far from the money)

Still a long way to go ... but very alive ... and having watched the rest of the WCOOP (to the final table) nothing to fear beyond the volatility ... which feels more massive then ever.

I am looking forward to the official report for the WCOOP ... the winner for $175k ... was all in with T7s vs AJ with c40 BB"s ... he spiked ... and the rest is history ... had he lost he was out for c$2k ... UNREAL ...

I should add - there should still be an heroic "end" to the blog ...

Not sure I can raise the enthusiasm for WCOOP 21 today at 6pm??

Probably get my head together for WCOOP 41 - next Sunday - $215 N/L - $1.5M g"tee

Interesting to rail various parties last night ...

WCOOP 21 - Super Slow - but little sign of much great poker going on.

Stay alive and steal what you can - and then make your move.

I went to bed with about 2500 left ... and woke with 23 ... Final table very interesting.

Some terrible play - TT vs QQ when 60 BBs deep - a neat way to throw away $100k.

One of the short stacks - just sat there to make it from 9th to 3rd - then got busy to come second and scoop $211k with no risks on the final table ... well played.

Not sure what poker is next for me ... lured by the 4-max tonight ... but 20 min levels means all night to get anywhere.

Pleasent lunch watching Greyhounds - 2 wins from 2 - one by a nose - and £140/$210 profit ... it"s almost written that I should play tonight!

Pokerstars $50+5 rebuy in for $155 ... 625 runners ... $120k in the pot.

Got into great shape with JJ vs 88 Vs AK ... but went card dead ... then losing AJ vs 88 to get back to 14th ...

Card Dead whilst the bubble bursts ... but jammed QJ into AQ ... of course spiking the Queen ... for 67th and a $398 return.

ElkY - 66th ... Moorman1 - 65th ... good company ...

A little bit of cash progress - for a $300 profit on the day ... Right direction ... but in the end just a minor cash amongst the trash ...

The return of the true Badger ... in control from 5 out for $525 ticket to event 15 of GSOP.

Pretty close in $530 qualifier for WCOOP 38 - lost AK vs 67 ... to be above average with 37 left for 12 seats ...

Game on ...

... game off ... AK shove killed by the super ropey Q7 call ... to go 2nd of 4 for $320 ticket ...

963 left in Pokerstars $90k g"tee ... bit card dead ... 396 paid ... way below average ... but not under blind pressure quite yet ...

Bubble just burst in Pokerstars $90k g"tee ... and just over average of the 395 runners left ... is this the third minor cash in a row ... $135k in the middle ... would be nice for an epic run ...

At the moment I will make a huge $22 profit!

$21k for the winner ...

Mmmm ... 133rd of 2703 ... small stack and good timing for a lot of the play ... but last hand is JJ vs AK to go 50% above average ... would have been a nice stack to play with!

So three minor cashes in a row on Pokerstars ...

Nice Sat win on Betfair ...

Smooth running over with the ultimate battle of the blinds in event 1 of the GSOP ...

Not much escape with AKs in the BB when the flop is A98 vs the SB : AA who limped.

APAT ... flopped top pair trying to be creative ... but got out-kicked and then hit my irrelevant kicker with a pair on the board ... no high card for a split ... was in push and shove territory ... trying to play in clever.
