Darts Extra Two :

Also from the BDO website:

Over 50% of the adult population in the UK express an interest in darts:

"An interest" - OMG

I love the idea of doing a survey that involved the question "are you interested in darts" ... perhaps it was taken outside Frimley Green??

5.7 million men and 3.1 million women are darts fans.

Not sure what would qualify you as a fan(atic)?

Maybe the PDC is only the tip of the Iceberg ... 8.8 million fans from say 40 million adults ...

So let"s say 1.5 million fans in London for the sake of an estimate : Darts set to sell out the Emirates?? Should be a breeze.

I wonder what the comparable stats would be for poker??

Darts Extra III

As a direct result of BDO/WDF rules and standards, modern day darts players tend to be younger, fitter and generally more image conscious than their latter-day counterparts.

What is a "modern day darts player?"

Is it just the subset of darts players who are younger/fitter/more image conscious??

I am loving the "latter-day conterparts" - I am that latter-day counterpart to the young/fit/image conscious modern darts player. I am a dinosaur of the darting world but I will rise again ...

Watched a little of the BDO Darts ...

Vintage match between Kist and Dekker with the debutant (Kist) prevailing 97 average vs 96 ... worthy of the final.

I had hoped Kist would have remained at higher odds than 13.5/1 - which is probably a fair bet.

The odds will look pretty good if he keeps playing at that level - looked rock solid.

Meanwhile another min cash in the Sunday Warm Up AKs vs TT at the end to go about 25% ahead of average.

Finished 354th of 3619 - needed to win that race as the blinds bit - played some nice stuff earlier on but no cigar!

Looking forward to the APAT online event next Saturday - looks like next poker outing.

Played the London tourist yesterday and went up to the top of Centre Point (Paramount) and drank Port.

I think the viewing gallary is about level 33 - good views and chat.

Saturday morning - minimal hangover : Ready for the darts : Slightly annoyed by my weakness in only having a medium sized bet on Christian Kist - now just a little over 2/1 : He should slay Hankey and I might then lay off the downside vs presumably O"Shea.

Looking forward to the APAT event tonight - not sure if I will manage to "play every hand" but will likely give it a go!

APAT fun while it lasted ... played loose got into a nice position but had momentum reversed by a Leigh Wiltshire bluff ... bravo ...

Last hand AQ spikes the turns with a bonus flush draw but is against the made set and no help ... fair play and out.

Woke up thinking I should have been a little more patient or a little more aggressive in last night"s APAT - sure I ran into a set but I looked to play a little too tricky trappy for too long ... it all feeds in ... so looking forward to my habitual entry to the Sunday Warm Up and also the clock ticking down to the Genting Tour - still cannot decide if I will play the Thursday night event £100+9 Six Max in adddition to the Main Event.

I think the wise thing to do is just play the main event - but it doesn"t always work that way!

The flipper is to play the Saturday event if knocked out of the Main Event.

The mega flipper is to just play them all - certainly tempting!

Currently on the train back to Scotland - great time to travel - £15 upgrade to first and with free wifi and teas/coffees etc ... you instantly get your money back - This is the age of the train ....

Sunday Warm Up

Handy start : Break 2 : 34,528 vs 14,411 average

Could have been better losing AA vs JJ (small stack) whilst beating 99.

Nice table.

Promising!

Break 5

Bubble hand 77 in K7x vs AK ... sweet ...

187,168 vs 85,150 average - 431 players left inside the money.

Currently 26th

Blinds 1500/3000 (300)

Could have been better but for losing races vs short stacks 99 vs AT - flopped straight and 77 vs A8.

Break 6

147,568 vs 199.456 average : 184 left.

Pretty card dead - only marginal decision whether to call down a mid-stack re-shove with A8o - super marginal but happy to fold.

Need some something to happen quickly now ...

... and out 137th ... losing AK vs 55 and AJ vs 66 vs the same player ... small margins ... $770.70 ... $115k+ for the winner ...

Got to win your races and all that ...

I guess - I will return next week - for this battle of good versus evil ...

TCOOP 9 Turbo PL Omaha has to be the way forward ...

Nearly double the average with 1284 left - 495 paid (of 3770 starters)

Tedious min cash in the TCOOP losing a flip and a 60/40 vs real trash ...

TCOOP 10 early days lost a KK vs AQ already ... weird structure so just a case of stay alive for 90 mins and take the massive add on ... start with 3000 chips ... add on 30,000 chips ... or attempt to build a mega stack ...

TCOOP 10 - Judy below average with 8000 runners out ... only 4667 odd to go.

Bye in Round 1 of TCOOP 11 - Always pleasing.
