Another day - another shove into AA - this time in a six handed turbo with A9 getting towards the money ...

Powder dry until the weekend - have decided to play the £600+60 at The Vic - 10,000 chips - 40 min levels - perhaps a little quick - but will suit my current game!

Will be interesting to see how many runners they get ... last year a comparable event got a meagre 65!

Would settle for 100 runners - and a shoot at £18k ish.

Pretty pleased with this :

"Have a chunk on Federer to win the O2 Tennis - 2/1 very decent - though Berdych - mega value at 23/1 - Beat 3/1 Murray fair and square last week." Federer a bit less than 1/2 Berdych 9/1.

Even more pleased to be heading to the Vic for their £600+60 side event today - I think 100 runners is widely optimistic - but let"s see what happens!

Time to take something down.

GUKPT side event - Early exit (Level 3) - QQ as over pair vs flopped set - It"s standard and annoying - but on balance I could and should have got away with at least some of my chips ...

Elements of my early play was pleasing - set up a maniac image in order to get paid later - but this makes the overpair very hard to fold!

Only 59 runners - I was about 10th out - doesn"t feel I gave it the maximum chance - albeit if you think you are ahead I think you have to get the chips in and force the hard (or in this case easy) decision!

Feels like a super damp squib as an end to face to face poker in 2011!

Now home - just in time for Betfair Grand Prix - and could have been out turning trip 8"s with 86 - river is a 3 - checked to me I bet - flat called by 83 for the rivered house - pretty hard to see how I was going to fold that one too! But instead I have a life!

However it"s not a long life - TT I raise the two limpers flat called by KT - flop is three clubs - villian puts in a micro bet -ahh the day of the over pair - I shove - called by the King flush draw (I had the ten of clubes) which duly spikes and dead.

I guess lots of time to ponder my attack on the Warm Up tomorrow!

Haunted by Queens ... this time in the Sunday Warm up ...

I limped under the gun with QQ - 5 players - not great but flop in Q87 rainbow - I bet and get one caller.

Turn J - I bet
River K - I bet and am committed - vs the inspirational AT

It"s a pretty hopeful call with three to act after with AT on the flop.

If anyone else wants to dance then I very likely get fully paid - but as it is bad calls are very well rewarded with the fishy straight on the river ...

A weekend to consign to the memory and file - QQ horror show.

Just a late night turbo AK vs 88 and out ... not sure what is next in the poker calendar??

I am minded to play the Genting Poker Tour next year - so that would be Feb 3-5th.

I am sure some online poker before then but doesn"t seem to be much that fits face to face before the Genting.

There is a Betfair Live Feb 17-19th : $650+50 (Fox Poker Club - London)

Genting II - Southend : Mar 30th - April 1st

These gaps seem too big!

I am sure that a plan with emerge ...

Friday night starts with the $10k g"tee SH deepstack on Betfair.

Level 1 AA vs KK double up ... pleasing ... all down hill from here I guess ...

Main event tonight will be the $40k g"tee ($50 re-buy at 8pm)

Masterchef on the TV - last of the wild livers!

Running pretty well in the $10k ... 15th of 30 left inside the money.

In the $40k ... consecutive hands lost AKs vs A2 and 99 vs T9 ... out ...

Meanwhile it is Live Swearing in the Mosconi Cup ... Needle central ... rare to see/hear these days.

Plenty of play but not luck ... managed to only lose 1/3 of my stack with a mid flush vs nut flush ...

Then got them in QJ into Jxx vs AK large stack ... calls for "value" and spikes ... sigh!

6th of 228 for $526.57

Very unlucky Louis, nice play losing the min with that flush v flush at the FT. You got them in ahead mate and can"t really ask for more in that spot. Nice play mate  8)

Played well - was feeling like a great chance of top 3 at least - first poker for a week felt in the zone.

Of course some luck in running earlier - but not by out-drawing people except the following hand

I raise with 76 of clubs - I get min raised by a short stack - I have to call.

Flop is 6 plus 54 of clubs - I check call the short stack who has AA - ahead but with only a 34% of winning the hand!

I spike a 6 on the river to win.

I also flop an invisible full house with T8 and a set with T5 ...

Making great progress with general small ball betting of trash at the moment - lose small - win big.

Once the stack is built can either attack or look to tighten a notch to pick people off.

Last hand 75/25 when the money flies ... if it holds I am gunning for the win.

Not sure what is next up?

L
