I-Poker ran out of cards ... 178th ... KQ push into A6.

Racing Post - Break 1 : 118th of 400 : 73 paid.

Break 2 - 186th of 281 - not finding much to play with - very slow structure.

Break 3 - 148th of 182 left - needing a double up - everything I fold would have hit and so on.

Dead! 165th ... poor play in the end ... annoying ... chances to push with better cards ... chances to call with better cards ... weak limpy trash ... and out with a wimper ... not what was required on the end of a poor run of late beats.

RT - $1,525

When I come to review the year - there have been tournaments like this one where weakness/passivity in the middle of the tournament cost me the chance for "glory" - annoying.

Of course the time you make the call with TT in the face of two raises you end up vs AK and QQ and lose ... and not AQ and 77 and win ... but the best advice on any of these hands is work out where you think you are and make the right call/push.

Ability to fold hands can be a weakness ... very tough when the marginal hands are biting both ways.

Second Attempt - got to heads up - caught middle pair vs top pair - blinds big enough to get committed.

Will attempt a $10+1 Re-buy to the Sunday Warm Up and then call it a day (bar the APAT tonight).

Sunday Warm Up - $10+1 re-buy success. (I think my record is 2 from 4 from these!)

$31 in for $215 seat.

Pretty much plain sailing with two playing adamant they are going to steal my big blind ... waking up with AA pretty sweet.

Next up K6 pushed into my AJ and the double up puts me just about safe for one of the 18 seats.

Of course still tests to come as I fold KK (would have been vs 99 and 88), 99 and AJs ... but a ticket has been won.

Tempted to save the seat for next week ...

Small sample - though I do seem to run good in these ...

I will try one more DS - but going to chill out this evening keeping any further tournament dollars for future weeks.

On a "brighter" note - Spurs 0 Celtic 2 coming up to half time.

Not convinced that Celtic are going to be any great shakes this year.

Pretty decent record in the Sunday Warm Up though not been able to turn it into a big win.

In the APAT - lost KK vs A5 - standard ..

From my "experience" once the money bubble bursts, it gets very difficult to keep up. You seemed to be stealing/restealing about once every orbit, but your stack was still below average and sinking. The flurry of exits means you need to get to (and win) showdowns to go deep in this. That KQ v 77 was a great spot for you. Such a shame you were 2 outered on the river.

Would have made it back to 80k - still struggling ... still alive ...

Really hard to deal with trash cards in these phases.

It was interesting to watch the different approaches, "lilholdem954" (previous massive winner), pushed everything and blew up 171st, but seemed to take the view that fold equity plus a likely 35% chance at showdown was enough for any two cards.

I think at the margin I like staying alive too much ... though as per the above got my money in good or ran into aces before this race ...

Yesterday I got way below average - which is not good.

I tihnk you could skim just below average and still do well if you get a couple of hands late(r) on.

Was in 86th whilst in the money in one of the above (trying to play tight) ... just one showdown win away from the dizzy heights when ability to steal and pick people off ...

Summary - next out I will look to get a little more aggressive a little earlier ... and no doubt run into Aces ...
