If you"ve played at Cardiff, don"t expect the Vic to be anything similiar...... it"s light years ahead!!  There aren"t too many cardrooms in the UK that are better run than the Vic - it"s not as good as DTD, but it"s certainly not far off.

Don"t think I"ve ever seen SnG"s played at the Vic.  £1-£1 cash games seem to be always self dealt too on those silly round tables.  I don"t like the place but they do some lovely kebab things.

The Vic is very much a cash-oriented venue. Expect to see 10-20 cash tables, all dealer dealt, then a few self-dealt tables for the nightly comp. SNGs are very hard to come by.

There are lots of other options at places that focus more on tournaments, such as the International or Loose Cannon - probably recommend the former if the buyins are at the range you"re looking for. Also the Equal Chance if you can be bothered to trek to Walthamstow. There"s also something of a difference in playing standard there versus the others ;)

when I was there last year I played NLH at 50p/£1 and £1/£2 tables (both raked), and also spent some time watching £5/£10 and £10/£20 RoE games.  Something for everybody!

In which case the nearest to you is the aforementioned Equal Chance in Walthamstow. Don"t know what your train route would be, but it"s a 2 min walk from St. James Street (overground).

Loose Cannon is Cannon St. tube, The International is Old Street.
