May I ask why, seeing as there are countries involved who may find it difficult to find a team/travel etc, that Northern Ireland are not given the chance to represent themselves in this tournament? I think the quality of players in both the republic and the north is of a high enough quality that the two countries of ireland should each be entitled to their own team. We in Northern Ireland have a strong APAT foundation as displayed by our current success in the online national league as Belfast, and a rather obvious team captain should we ever rightfully be acknowledged as a separate team from our Irish cousins.

I think it is a criticism of the APAT that in their team championship, where teams represent a country, that people from the North, who may have no affiliation with the south, must play under the tri-colour flag if they want to be involved, when in reality Northern Ireland and indeed the Northern Irish team should be recognised as the separate body and collection of members that they are.

Des allows us one opinion a year.  Can"t believe I"ve used mine up agreeing that Northern Ireland should have their own team in the Europeans.  Still, it is a worthwhile cause, and they would put up a very strong team.

Anyway, back to sitting on the fence.   ;)

APAT would be willing to allocate two slots to Irish teams if the current team and their captain agree.

Well, seeing as how its easier to understand what the Hungarian team are saying, it might be best for Northern Ireland to have their own team, so at least they could understand each other.

I look forward to seeing you proudly wearing your silver medals.

By the way beansisdaman, the tri-colour flag, as you call it, was designed to represent equal status for Orange and Green heritage, with white symbolizing peace between them.

I have no objection - Without wishing to pass the buck I think it"s a management decision. My only issue is that the Irish team has a valued member in Colin and I would not wish to lose him.

I don"t suppose this would be an issue if we weren"t defending champions  ;D
