Just back after a long night at Dublin Airport.  Thanks Des & Rich for another great tourney I seem to be stuck between 25th & 50th every tournament. Can"t complain at least I am getting a lot of play for my money and showing consistency.

Best of luck to all today with a special mention for Scouse, Phil t & Darren.

Good afternoon again from Dublin

It is once again scorching here, and in about an hour"s time the 29 players resume play battling for the title of APAT Irish Amatuer Poker Champion 2009, Euro3400 to the winner, GUKPT Champion of Champions seat and Blankety Blank chequebook and pen

I had a troubling night. Settling off to sleep at 2am I received a phone call from Dawn Dineen telling me they were going clubbing and my presence was required

A few minutes of futile resistance later I had relented and was dressed and going out of the door of my first floor hotel room

As I rounded the corner I was met mid stairs by a middle aged American Woman dressed in nothing but a dressing gown. Interesting, I was tempted to think. Until she opened her mouth.

From this mouth trailed a splurge of East Coast American accent invective, think Joan Rivers minus most of the facelifts, berating me for making too much noise.

I apologised halfheartedly and was told I should "respect people operating in different timezones" I replied, perhaps undiplomatically that if I was "in the Solomon Islands now it would be tomorrow, let alone a different timezone, and you would have a point but you are actually in the same timezone as me"

She seemed nonplussed by this, but part-recovered and then told me she had to be up at 6am for a flight. I congratulated her on this, and wished her a good night"s sleep

[  ] I sure hope that when I finally retired to bed at 5am 800 Euros lighter I did not wake her up

Good afternoon everyone and as Tighty offered above, "welcome to Dublin".  I wisely selected the "go to bed" option last night and feel well refreshed as a result this morning.  My co-host for today"s production on the other hand, looks a little rattled, on what is shaping up like a scorching day here in Dublin.  Bless.

Pics of last night"s final 29 finishers are coming right up.  Pics of the lap top club revellers will not be coming right up.  Thank God you might say, rightly so too.
