I posted something earlier but cannot find it so maybe I hit delete !!
For that reason, I will post it here.
Firstly, a big thanx to Des, Tighty and Leigh who always to a top-job and this weekend is no exception. You can never please everybody (see my post on the team championships thread ....moaning old fart !!) and they do it for nowt.....keep it up boyz.
I also want to say a massive Thank-You to everyone for all of their best wishes this weekend, both here on the forums and at the Fitz, such as Stuart Langford and Ray Chester from J10 at Walsall, Rob Swindells, Scouse for the 8-5 but more importantly the K-K and of course, Laxie for giving me the trophy.
But the following guys were special this weekend.....Steve Redfern for putting up with my snoring , Will Young for proving that he does have hair under his cap, Malc for introducing me to Jamesons Irish, Steve Freer for congratulating me on my win......then 20 mins later telling me I hadn"t told him I had won (Jamesons strikes again), Matt McKinlay for his constant encouragement on day 2, Will Johnston for his exceptional navigational skills and brother Sam for his constant jokes (N0.34 A CLASSIC !!), Ant Williams for smuggling my trophy home in his bag, Sohan Basu for the encouragement and the 400 euros, and of course Matt the Philosopher......for being himself !!
As for the tourney, the BCPC showed it"s strength once more with 2 players making the final table and 4 in the last 18 to show that playing there must be improving our game.
But on a more personal note this win was so VERY special to me and I want to dedicate it to my Father-In-Law Bill Young. I asked you to have a word with the man upstairs last week Bill and you obviously did. Everytime I look at that trophy I will think of you.....may you Rest In peace xx.
