The payout was co-ordinated by The Fitzwilliam, who deal in euros.

I see what you mean, not sure how you get around it as the buy-ins have to be paid to the club.

Same as playing in the EPT and I suppose WSOP, where you admittedly buy in with the local currency, but still lose out when its changed back to GBP.

Just keep the euros for a holiday (in europe of course)

this was a stinker!

I changed £500 for ?545 on the way out.
I came back with ?625...... and the bank changed it back into £500!!

So ?545 on the way out is equal to ?625 on the way back. And the bank have the nerve to tell me it"s commission free!!  Who needs comission when you can be so heavy handed with the exchange rates!!
Blatent brag  post ,coming back from Dublin with money.

He broke even due to exchange rates!!

lol ;D

just to echo what steve said...i was shocked when i changed my 600 euro back into £s. it worked out to £471....was expecting around £550 off the top of my head.

so i actually broke evan due to exchange rates also...lol
Not APATs fault though. and the 10% that i gave to charity lost out on a bit also...booooo

Dont exchange your euros at the banks.
I exchanged mine with friends who needed Euros at the daily spot rate.  Both parties are then happy, as neither get ripped off by the banks.

If you get a receipt you change back at the same rate.
But like Darren says buy/sell of friends where ever possible @ spot
