Well it"s time to pick the team I guess.

Thanks to all those that have shown interest to date (it"s not too late if you haven"t).

I will be sending out some PM"s over the next few days to get some further information from those on the shortlist for the 2 places that have still to be filled.

2 players have been picked and announcements on those will be made........

soon

I am pleased to announce the first player in this years Scottish Team.

Gordon "GiMac" McArthur, pictured here at last years event.

Gordon finished 2nd in the player rankings at the event last year scoring a total of 22 points. (more than the entire Welsh team who scored 15)

After the event "BigAnorak" said this about Gordon:

"It takes more than 6 pints of Lager and 6 shots of Tequila to nobble a Scotsman before a heads- up match (well done Gordon - I was well impressed with your blind blind calling)"

Linziwan said this:

"Many congratulations to Ireland very well played and Scotland, coming back all that way from the first day was brilliant. My chips definitely helped you there - Gordon is definitely my nemisis can"t beat him in a hand ever!"

And finally I"ll leave you with a quote from the man himself:

"Finally, my commiserations to the poor english team. Aye right, lol, get it right up ye!!!!"

Em.............this list seems to have ground to a halt. If you"re having trouble filling a team, there may be some disappointed English players who also have Scottish eligibility.

As it looks as though you are struggling Stuart, I would like to put my name forward. I think that I qualify because,

I can drink large amounts of Whisky, and partial to a few heavies

My arms are 30" long, but my pockets measure 35"( as with most scotsman)

I can sometimes be devoid of humour

I do not feel the cold, as I have ample covering

Looking forward to your PM

Stuart,

I"ve just had a look into my family background and it"s amazing what you can find.

I am really proud to be able to say that I am in no way whatsoever eligible to play for Scotland.

What a result !!!!!!!  (For both of us  ;) )
