Fantasy Staker - WSOP Main Event 2009
« on: June 30, 2009, 21:47:47 PM »
--- ENTRY TO THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED ---

Welcome to APAT's WSOP "Fantasy Staker" competition, which will give you a chance to win a seat at the English Amateur Poker Championship in October and win an option to enter the UK Team Championship in December for your chosen forum.

Summary

We"re giving you a bankroll of $10,000 fantasy dollars to stake players at the WSOP main event.

You can use your fantasy dollars to stake between 1 and 10 players at the event, which will start this Friday evening.  You can also choose to not spend part or all of your fantasy dollars in the hope that any positive bankroll will increase your chances of winning a prize.

Staking

The buy in for the WSOP main event is $10,000.

If you stake one player for 50% of his buy in, you will be entitled to add 50% of his winnings to your fantasy bankroll.  You can choose to stake between 1 and 10 players for up to $10,000 fantasy dollars in total.

Here is an example of a Fantasy Staker Scorecard:

1)  Phil Ivey - 70%
2)  Gus Hansen - 20%
3)  John Kabbaj - 10%

If when the tournament has concluded, we find that Ivey has won $100,000 and Kabbaj has won $50,000 then your return would be 70% of $100,000 ($70,000) and 10% of $50,000 ($5,000), or $75,000 in total.  You would have to deduct the $10,000 in stakes leaving you with a final Fantasy Bankroll of $65,000.

Prizes

1)  The entrant with the highest Fantasy Bankroll at the end of the competition will win a paid entry to the English Amateur Poker Championship in Bolton in October and a guaranteed option to purchase an entry for their chosen forum to the UK Team Championship scheduled for December (which will have 4 less teams than last year"s sold out event).

2)  The next five entrants will win a clickfest pass, guaranteeing an option to purchase a seat at the English Amateur Poker Championship in Bolton.

Please feel free to tell your forum friends to take part as getting a guaranteed entry to the UK Team Championship in particular is likely to be at a premium.

Terms

1)  Members must enter their Fantasy Staker Scorecard on this thread before 8pm GMT on Friday July 3rd.

2)  One entry per member. The entry must be in an unmodified post and your first entry will count.

3)  As the final table will take place in November and for the sake of this competition, final prize money will be deemed to have been won based on the final chip counts of the 9 finalists.  For example, the chip leader will be deemed to win first place prize money, etc.  Actual prize money will be  used from positions 10 and down.  This will enable us to conclude this competition in mid July.

4)  Prizes are not transferable under any circumstances.

5)  Members have to submit their Fantasy Staker Scorecard in the above format.

6)  APAT will have the final decision on any queries arising out of this competition.

If you need inspiration, player rankings; including WSOP 2009, can be accessed via the Hendon Mob Database

GOOD LUCK!
